I had always thought they were there primarily for grip. That's cool to learn about them more. I used to be afraid of escalators grabbing my shoes if I stepped on or off of them the wrong way. Thankfully, its never happened to me so that fear has dialed back to a mild concern over the years.

This was really sad. Honestly just the government once again having no clue how technology works. To do the mod you had to open up tbe computer and soldier on a usb connection for the boot drive. Back then cd's are expensive even in the mid 90's so you can't just collect orig artist albums. We had cd player but What I can afford those time is various artist & 2 ND hand cd's so to hear the clear & crisp sound that are superior to cassette tapes. Then pirated CD came & mp3 where many albums are loaded into 1 disc. It become pirated CD more cheap. Rewritable CD came making easy to make personal CD album. It makes CD to drop price but it's too late people choose mp3 disc over CD disappearing

You forgot shopping carts! The wheels of shopping carts are designed with these "ridges" or edges that interlock with the grooves of the escalators and lock them in place. So if you're travelling downwards and let go of the cart, it'll stay in place!

I really don't know if anyone has gone through this, but as a teenager I used to peep in my besr friend's mom since they were our neighbours, at that time I didn't felt it was wrong since I used to think, it kinda turned me on and some sexual intrusive thoughts about her and that's it, but now I'm 35 and just last week this memory triggered and now I feel so ashamed and guilty and extremely shameful of my acts and couldn't move on, it kinda stole my peace of mind and Don knows when I will her over it. 😭 😭
