Thank you for making this available on YT. I had this on VHS, but lost it (along with all of my other albums, CDs, DVDs, etc.) in a house fire several years ago.

Something inspired by Tessla? Zero point energy on the way?

You might call this a "POV" recording! -- the mic was clearly very near the organ console, so we hear what the organist was hearing, which at times is mostly the incredible din made by the trackers! The volume of their clattering gives one some idea how much finger strength must be required to depress the keys! (M. Roth explains that the action of this instrument is so heavy because the trackers are *six storeys* long!)

the plein jeu is so pure and authentic. its like your listening in the 18th century. glad cavaille-coll preserved most of the 18th century cliquot pipes.

oh that's extraordinary. For me pure beauty! But the feelings which comes alive inside me during listening are not "translatable" to the words....that's something divine in this music.

This music sounds as if it was written for this organ, as well as the Cavaille-coll of St Ouen. Stunning.

More noisy mechanically-speaking than even the 1610 Fredericksborg Compenius!

Continued in the next video, Part 9. I apologize for how it's broken up, but I simply went with the original chapter divisions. Enjoy!

What's so fun about these old instruments is learning their quirks, their personalities. The experience of performing is all about adapting yourself to the individual instrument. It's what makes organs so totally unique from any other type of instrument. Adapting the organ to the performer kills everything that makes that specific organ unique. And that's the whole fun of them. Each is it's own personality, in a sense.

I would say though that half the beauty of the instrument is the engineering and craftsmanship that went into it, and by electrifying the action you're bypassing that piece of art. It's all part of the experience of playing a tracker. It's what gives it its historical value just as much as those Clicquot pipes. And for someone who really knows how to play classical organ, the feel of the mechanical action can provide much greater sensitivity in playing than a simply binary electric switch.

the reeds old and later are truly stunning....the chamade is form the 1830s or 40s and not cavaille-coll

sorry but i see no advantage in barkers and trackers for key action and stop action and wish modern pistons and electric playing action and stop action were possible to make it a viable recital organ for all music........
