Bike in, body out... Never heard that phrase, but I remember it easily now!

I came off on a bend on my second ride out 2 weeks ago. I rode 54 miles but falling off 5 minutes from home 😢 I didn't slow down before the bend I must of applied breaks on it. Only scratches on paintwork thank god and a hairline fracture in hand. Back out this evening for the first time, hence watching this video l. A bit nervous but been told if dont go on might never do it 😊

I spent HOURS watching these videos 8 years ago when I started on my first scooter (in my 60's!!). I passed my motorcycle skills test and my road test because of you and these videos Ken. Every once in a while, when I start to feel too comfortable, and maybe complacent, I come back for a refresher, like today... Wish I could have gone down-under for some hands-on lessons.

So am I to understand that "trail breaking" is not to be done on a scooter only motorcycle in corners? I'm not sure if the term "tail breaking" is exclusively a American colloquialism.

I really appreciate these video’s and they have DEFINITELY helped! Now I hear this man’s voice the whole time I’m riding my scooter. 😂 🗣️ “CHECK YOUR MIRROR’S, BUFFER TO THE LEFT, SLOW DOWN, SET UP THE BRAKES”

A lot of good advice. However, I personally feel as an experienced road user that we go overkill in the clothing department on scooters. Having swapped a motorbike for a scooter I feel a lot safer, mobile, and more reactive on a scooter, I don't feel the necessity for a full-face helmet, big boots, and heavy leather on my little scooter when being alert and driving sensibly. I like to ride with an open helmet and light clothing. Some may say that's irresponsible, but I say it's my right and responsibility for what I choose to wear. Besides, I want to feel the wind on my face, to feel more independent and free. Otherwise, I may as well stick with my car and then be fully enclosed in a full-face helmet, boots, and leather.

What a lot of tripe! You must think we are morons going to buy a bike? Check the seat? Check the back box? Do you like the colour? 😂😂😂

Two things that still scream Vespa are the monocoque chassis and the anti-dive(?) front suspension. Modern Vespa don't follow the two stroke, side engine, manual transmission, and affordable price recipe anymore.

Just learning the scooter & your videos are very helpful. But can you tell me a safe slow speed to practice my balance like my rider friends are telling me that I can balance it cause I'm riding it too fast which should be done at the beginning. But I think that I'll learn slow speed riding later but currently balancing should be my top priority. Please tell me what's the right way & right speed for beginners to balance a scooter perfectly.
