My dad has brown skin and dark brown eyes and black curly hair, he is from Andalusia (specifically Southern Jaén) and when he went to the usa people called him "burrito boy". So personally I think it's more complex than Spain is in Europe so Spain is white, as my father personally doesn't see himself as white because he doesn't reflect what a white person looks like. But im not saying all of Spain is brown, only that Spain has many different shades from the native Iberian people. This can be credited to Arab mixing but also the fact that native Iberians were already tan to begin with. Lastly, you talked about how your partner and your friend are from Spain, but are white and have light eyes and skin, but I have a friend from Spain (Specifically the Balearic Islands) and she tells me nobody believes she is Spanish in Spain, and they speak to her in English because she has pale skin, blue eyes, and blond hair. It is quite uncommon to find nordic looking people in Iberia (unless your in like the Basque or northern Spain in general). So no I think you are incorrect when you say "Spain is white" as it is incorrect and quite ignorant as it invalidates people like my father.

@@domingathehuman1257 My ex-husband is also from Andalucía. He has light hazel eyes, pale skin and light hair. His aunt is blonde with blue eyes. If you feel that I'm invalidating your father then don't ask a Spaniard for their race because they will tell you white. Actually, most of my Spanish friends always ask me why are they not considered white when they go to the U.S. because they consider themselves white as are most Europeans. My grandmother was a Spaniard (I showed her picture in the video) and she stated multiple times when she was alive that her people are white. So this isn't my opinion this is what the country classifieds themselves as. And there was very little mixing with the Arabs, but most foreigners don't realize this. I think you would have a point if you were talking about the Canary islands but that isn't the case in the peninsula.

@@Kaisforeignadventures I understand your perspective (also im sorry about your divorce, I hope you're doing well and I wish you the best!) although I do disagree as spaniards I know wouldn't classify themselves as white but just as Spanish, I did ask my father and he told me that he is brown and has considered himself that. I think you made an overgeneralization, and it's not just my father but my grandmother who had never been to America considered herself brown and had talked about white people as a separate race from herself. I think most peoples opinions can differ aswell as in Spain as I have also met a spaniard and even though she had a darker complexion she described herself as white. I think because we have both been exposed to different types of people leading to different types of opinions on this matter. although at the end of the day we are all just human and more people just be accepting of that fact (especially the US government). I wish you the best!

You're misturing ceceo with distinción. Ceceo is when you pronounce all with TH sound (S,Z,CE,CI) Distinción is when you use sound S with S and sound TH with Z,CE,CI

Let's be clear: your husband abandoned you and moved out leaving you high and dry refusing to try and make the relationship work. He also showed up to the divorce proceedings with his boyfriend which was very tacky and classless. To be honest with you I think he always had a boyfriend on the side, staying out all night and leaving you the way he did! Estuvimos a punto de divorciarnos antes de conseguir la nacionalidad española, pero yo quería solucionar nuestros problemas, pero cuando me di cuenta de que no era posible tuve que tomar una decisión. Estuvimos juntos casi 6 años.

Technically it's illegal. However, some do rent out their flats and accept only cash to avoid paying taxes. It's hit or miss in this case.

Kai, I know you don't know me, but I've followed your journey over the years because I really enjoy your kind, genuine spirit. You were missed! Congrats on your new revenue streams..get that money!! SO glad you are safe and well, and making new friends. I've been through divorce. The emotional rollercoaster is brutal; it's like going through another death in the family (I lost 2 siblings months apart before going through my separation). And then there's the terrible feeling of failure. But you have to move forward. You're still young. Give yourself some grace and ENJOY YOUR LIFE. Fear keeps us from loving, living and enjoying everything God puts right in front of us. Just "Enjoy" (a Janet Jackson song ...you'll love the lyrics!😊).

Blacks in Spain are mostly immigrants or tourists. They exist in small numbers and people could care less about skin tone. However, if Blacks were to become majority due to massive immigration you would likely see nationalism and racism. People also pay attention to behaviors and culture. In Spanish forums I have seen Spaniards say they prefer immigrants from Latin America that adapt to the Spanish culture. Those that do not adapt do not integrate and may feel marginated. With regards to the history. The Moors were in Spain (mostly Andalucía) for 8 centuries and they did not leave much DNA behind. The Spanish Catholic monarchs at one point deported all Muslims and Jews and their descendants from Spain.

I didn't start out teaching online. I taught in a school, but I had to go to school to get the teaching certificate. That school did help me get the visa, but I don't know if an online school will be able to do that, but now that Spain has a digital nomad visa it's a lot easier to get if you work for an online school that operates outside of Spain.

The Spanish are not the sole cause for the white complexion amongst the Guanche people. If I’m not mistaken, the Guanches did have tan skin but they also had blonde hair and blue eyes. Similar to their relatives, the Berber/Amazigh people of Northwestern Africa.

@@olekunyomak no it wasn't Minoxidil. It was some kind of spray that helps with circulation. I'm not using Minoxidil, but it's definitely something that can help. My friend takes the Minoxidil in pill form. He said it works great.

Was just wondering what happened to you...had to type in your channel name; this didn't come up on my alerts! That festival was lit (literally!😆). You should've showed us some of your dance moves..that music was awesome. What a blessing to be able to go to an event and not worry about a possible mass shooting.
