Kate! I rode IHSA in college. I was super bummed when I placed much lower than I rode at for the team because I did not do much showing. But I am so thankful that I did! Higher levels are much more competitive and you might not win much if you place higher at first. Your coach can always move you up if they need you somewhere else, but you can never move back down. Because I placed much lower I was able to progress super quickly and was able to go to the zones/national shows. Just some food for thought!! If you have any questions feel free to reach out, I was the president of my IHSA Team my senior year of college so I know a lot about it. (I’m not 100% sure if that’s the same thing Kate would be doing, but I know some Canadian schools participate!) Your coach will place you in the lesson you need to be at, I promise. The biggest thing will be your college schedule though of what will dictate when your lesson is.

Poolwork like kate is doing is also very good for training the horse in jumping. I wonder what and how kate would do with a real showjumping horse. Because stevie is a beautiful horse and good for hunting but i don't see her jumping 4 to 4,5 feet 1,2m 1,4m. I follow many eventing riders, dressage, jumping and crosscountry. But in canada and US mostly they do hunter.😊

Thank you so much for including us on Kate's wonderful journey. You and Scott are aiming her for success with the trainers and people in the industry. Kudos to you Mom and Dad. It is about time for sanction shows . Kate is an awesome rider and the coaching she is getting at a high level shows. I understand you guys like to go to Brandons lessons, but he is no where near the trainer where Kate is getting lessons. Sorry I am not being rude just honest.

In west europe they do much more groundwork, working at the hand and lunging on doble lines to make the horse stronger, better, more balance. Many do exercises with shoulder inward. Such things i never see in canada and US. And experts say that's the base of all exercises, groundwork and working on the hand. There are even special courses for this, apart of the oficial course of the sportsassociations, for example in the netherlands KNHS profesional education Orun 1- 2- 3 and even 4 to become coach of sporthorses and 5 for even olympic coach. Beside of this you can also follow NCSAH with also theory and biomechanics and much groundwork. In spain it's almost the same but with other names. All those people are telling to do much more groundwork. Witch class of education did your coach? It's always recommended to check their degree. Did you know that if happens an accident the teacher or coach has to have an insurance when it happens in a session with him.😊

Yes 😁… we had a housing emergency we had to deal with for Kate (for the last couple of weeks). We just found out she had nowhere to live in September because the on campus housing at the university was too full, so there were many students trying to find housing. It has been an extremely stressful couple of weeks because there is currently a housing shortage. Luckily, we just secured a,place for her, so now I can get back to videos. Last weekend we went to her first rated show and she placed! That is coming up! Stay tuned!

ALRIGHT STEVIE AND KATE ARE LEAD CHANGING FOOLS!!!! SO PROUD OF U TO GET HER WITH AN ACCOMPLISHED COACH. EXCELLENT SCHOOLING LESSON AT HOME. PERFECT ATTITUDE, YOU RIDE WHAT YOUR HORSE NEEDS. IN JUMPING THE RIDER CAN USE THIER BODY TO ENCOURAGE AND HELP THIER HORSE. THE JUMP IS THE GOAL NOT HOW CORRECT THAT JUMP IS TAKEN. THAT IS THE THRILL OF HORSES, STEPPING IN THE IRONS, PICKING UP THE REINS AND FEELING THAT HORSE MOVE. LIKE A DANCE TWO PARTNERS MEETING THE FIRST TIME AND COMMUNICATING TOGETHER. WE ASK, THEY MOVE THAT BODY PART AND THATS THE THRILL THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS LISTENING TO US. O THE HORSES KATE IS GOING TO RIDE, I AM EXCITING FOR HER. JENN YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO PICK OUT A DAY AND WATCH A LESSON. HOPE JULIA IS GETTING HER LITTLE FAIR ANIMALS READY.

What is Kate doing with Duke? He is a very handsome horse. I used to love watching Gabby ride hm. He seemed to have a lot of potential. Stevie has really come a long way. Nice ideas, except for having long loose screws anywhere near the horses. Instead, I would use a blunt pin (or bolt) to secure the jump cups. Screws can easily get lost in the arena, and then found as a puncture into a horse's foot.

She will be trying out for it…. Tryouts aren’t until the first week of September. She qualifies to tryout for the entry level equestrian team so far, but if she wants to qualify to tryout for the higher competition level which is the same as what she is currently riding in lessons, she needs to place at a rated/ sanctioned show a certain amount of times. Her coach wants her trying out for that level, so now we are going to try and make it to a few sanctioned shows this show season. So stay tuned for this new horse journey!

Kate did a wonderful job, especially considering the wind!! Stevie did well picking up her correct lead, and also not breaking the canter. I agree with the other fan who said it would be a good idea to avoid going through the middle of the ring. Again, I suggest lunging at least half an hour before classes start. If you get to the show early in the day and don’t show until later, I would advise lunging for about 15-20 minutes shortly after arrival and then 30minutes an hour before your classes begin. Way to go, Kate and Stevie!!❤❤

@BarnBootsandCountryRoots
@BarnBootsandCountryRoots Ай бұрын
Julia has been in a really intensive school program for kids with severe learning disabilities the last two years. We are so incredibly fortunate that she was accepted and has access to their specialized educational program because it has been a game changer for her, but it is designed as an intensive program which means very long days, and she is exhausted on the weekends. Her long school hours, coupled with her loss of confidence in riding after her fall and concussion 1.5 years ago, led her to take a long break from riding. She is almost finished school though and next year she has to return to the regular school system. Once she is home for the summer, she plans on picking riding back up again. She has already started with little rides in our arena and she did a trail ride last weekend. So you will definitely see her riding again shortly. She wants to work with Flora and eventually do a show on her.

I disagree with this comment on so many levels! Clickbait is used to attract attention clicks and views..... that's what most people want for their youtube channels to gain a following. The way you are referring to clickbait as in dishonesty is also not right because stevie defiantly looked like a drama lama in todays vlog. Not dangerous or unsafe just dramatic. Surely you can understand the term without throwing it at vlogs your actually taking your time to watch and count. And clickbaiting is better than trolling Anyday which some people could say your doing commenting on other videos about day by day ..

For sure 😊. A day surrounded by horses and riding is always a good day in Kate’s book. She looks at shows as a competition against herself, more than against other people. She likes to see how she and her horse have improved from the last show, so when she sees that Stevie maintained her stamina and hardly had to fix lead changes compared to last year, that’s a win. Obviously, she would love to place and have a great ride, but when she doesn’t, she is never angry about it. It is all just a learning experience. Regardless of how they place, we still had a great time hanging out with friends, and she got to ride her horse… so anytime we get to do that is a good day. 😊

We’ll check her out. Yes, Kate has a horrible habit of turning her toes out. We were just talking about it. It was a bad habit she picked up when she first started riding and has never really been able to break it. Her legs naturally want to turn out because she was breech, mine do the same thing. She has to really concentrate to get them turned in. She is working on different tricks to correct it. Her coaches are working on it with her, too. Hopefully, she finds something that works.
