I have been riding/racing motorcycles over 40 years and my first helmet was Kiwi... since then I have had only Arai helmets from 1983. Just ordered a new Arai RX-7V EVO Isle of Man limited edition helmet.

I've been riding with the Arai Contour-x for 4 weeks now after a gruelling search for my new lid, so I'll give you all the highs and lows... Highs: 1) This thing is SOO unbelievably comfortable. It's like pushing your head into a velvet condom. (And that's a good thing!) 2) It's light. Real light. The reviews say the weight is on the higher side, but I find it remarkably light. Almost AGV light. 3) The ventilation is crazy good. You live in a hot climate? This thing is going to keep you cool. 4) My glasses go in with ease and sit on my nose. In fact, easier than any other AGV, Shoei or Shark helmet I've worn in the past. 5) It's got a smaller footprint than my old GT-Air... no bobblehead effect in a size XL. 6) It is beautiful. The Arai craftsmanship is stunning. I got the Face graphic, and I find myself just staring at the thing. 🙂 Lows: 1) Hot dang, it's expensive! The most money I have ever spent on a lid, but I keep them a long time so that's life. 2) WITH ALL THE VENTS OPEN, there is a lot of wind noise. But you see, ventilation requires moving air. Moving air is not quiet. When you close the two small top vents, it quiets down considerably. If you want a silent lid, go with the Shoei GT-Air 2 or 3. 3) The visor mechanism takes some getting used to. I have an old Arai Vector-2, so I'm used to it. Not a deal-breaker. 4) No photochromic shield available as of writing this. It's okay, I own sunglasses. ------------- Regrets: Zero Wallet: Hurting

I just got a corsair X a little while ago. I was having a hell of a time closing it completely. This video helped with that. now it works like it should. I kinda wish this was a more known thing. Going to keep this in my favorites, just because I'll forget if I get a new bucket

WHY oh why couldn't you just put something larger on the visor for us to grab to open the d*mn visor? Like even just a slightly larger tab? The de-mist bit is nice (though not truly enough to stay fog free), but the visor remains nearly un-openable with gloves on without using two hands. I spent $1000 CAD on a helmet I can barely open. If there were literally ANY other options on the market that fit my oval head, I surely would have went with that over my Signet-X because of the visor and lack of any other extra features (ie drop down internal sun visor etc).

Bring this to the Signet X line please

I've tried my best for over an hour but I absolutely can not get my cheek pads back in on my Corsair X. Nothing clicks into place. I dont know what to do, have to bring it back to the store and if they cant reinstall I'll have to return it.

It works as intended (exactly as shown in the video) IF you are also not wearing any gloves. Once gloves come into the equation, the F word is required for the visor to open.

The laminate is so fragile. Gentle cleaning with a microfiber cloth and water still damages the film.

Just switched to an adventure bike after years of cruisers and touring. Currently have a Signet X that's pushing 6 years old. I've been looking and trying on others like the Klim Krios pro. Yes it's light but doesn't really fit me well. The Shoei is nice too and I've had Shoei before (Still have a Neotech) but my Arai Signet X is my favorite! The fit and comfort and quality of Arai is pulling me back. Almost purchased an XD4 but I like the features of the XD5 like the more visual correct visor.

Why does the company which makes the product, make videos which don’t show the details of how the shade fits on to begin with??? I just spent $95 some odd and it won’t fucking go on. The only way the side things will fit on is if the shade is at a 90 degree angle to the main visor, then it won’t shut! I hope I got a defective one if not I’m sure any other design of how to attach a shade visor would have been better!!!

I've put over 12k miles on my DesertX in under a year. Every mile wearing an XD-4. Great helmet, even in the +110F Texas heat. Just checked out the XD-5 at my local Ducati dealer a few days ago, will probably pick one up. Hope it's available in the Diamond White like my XD-4. 😊

While I’d love to see MIPS integrated into arai’s lineup..having loved the XD4 I can’t wait to try the 5. My 4 was just stolen and I am ready to try these out when I see them start getting stocked in my local cycle gear.
