I've scoured the watch world to find something a bit off beaten/diamond in rough and Edox is it! They use ETA and Ronda movements, nothing magical there, however you get very high end and well finished cases at 1/100 cost of Rolex et al.

I have been researching, for enjoyment, the Swiss watch industry and essentially you have three types. Boutique brands that build limited amounts with precious materials with in house movements, intermediate brands that use in house movements but build in steel and make high quantity, and entry level wherein the movements are premade by Sellita, Ronda, or ETA and the brand builds the case and strap. Edox falls between intermediate and entry level, you get very high quality and technical cases with somewhat generic but reliable ETA/Sellita movements. I love Edox!

Coz automatic needs winding , having it as a quartz gives you more precise time . They're focusing on the water resistance and pressure in surfaces or having it in deep ocean.

Because you can't risk having a mechanical watch stop when you're diving. A quartz watch is unlikely to stop when you're timing your dive.
