When someone wants to perform in public, they must be sure that they are really prepared. And study, study, that is the best recipe. The piano must also be sensitive, and not play Mozart taken by the spirit of Liszt. However, I love the determination of both of them and of ANAM! 🌷

Thank you, Dasha, Ruby, and Henry, for sharing this utterly beautiful and moving performance of my "Reflection" with the world. It was composed in memory of my viola teacher at the University of Michigan (September 1967-December 1968), Francis Bundra, who also taught for many years at Interlochen. Its premiere, at Interlochen during a celebration of the life and legacy of Francis Bundra, was performed by eight of his former viola students (Catherine Compton, Terri Feldman, myself, Susan Farqhuar Lipchak, Patricia McCarty, Nancy Denner Sturdevant, Dolores Mulder Thayer, and Linda Puroff Tolias) a year after his tragic death in 2000 in a fire at his home near his beloved Interlochen, where he was living in the years after his retirement.

Brava! Con questo brano mi fa tornare indietro di 40 anni! I concerti per corno e orchestra di Mozart sono bellissimi! Onore a Mozart e a tutti gli esecutori dei suoi capolavori.

"The Vietnamese news was taped from a radio broadcast and set against a constant pulse. The resulting speech-rhythms were transcribed and these transcriptions constitute the score. The player learns this material and interacts with the tape freely, sometimes playing in unison, sometimes improvising and sometimes allowing the tape to ‘solo’ against an ostinato. I often wonder how I would feel if I attended a concert in Vietnam and saw a performer doing the same with an English news broadcast..." - Graeme Leak (February 2020)

"Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does." -From Margaret Atwood's "The Penelopiad" (2005)
