Hi, i have a question about the cab rotation, we have a 2006 xerion 3300. Its cab rotation is opposite of yours and it doesn't sit down on the locking pins like it should. Would you happen to know how to fix this issue? I have no known dealers in my area that work on these and would like some help if possible. We are on the east Coast of the USA. Great sounding machine.

As a MF mechanic, I PDI'd plenty of MF 1200's & 1250's, seviced lots, did BIG break downs on a few, but when I moved on working for various agri contractors, I never got to operate one, well I did have an afternoon discing with one, loved every second.

A great looking example of the MF 1200. The fact that the cultivator has the standard shanks, rather than the low draught ones, must have offered a fair bit of soil resistance to the tractor ?

Presumeably, that intermediate pivotting carriage, controls depth at the front ? Since you say the castoring action of the rear wheel has been locked off, may I ask what would happen, if it were free to castor in the usual way ?
@theturnip8288
@theturnip8288 10 ай бұрын
The pivot can control depth or you can use it to partially transfer weight to maintain traction when using smaller tractors. It’s best to lock the caster up with the front pivot as it makes the plough more manageable, reversing is significantly easier!

How do you find the 55 pulls what do you think it’s limits would be modern lemken 4m combi or sumo trio 3m ?
@theturnip8288
@theturnip8288 Жыл бұрын
I’ve a mate running a Trio on a 55 and he loves it, says it works it very well. It would work our Solo 380 at around 7-8k. However, both mine and his are well weighted up. When the engines are set up correctly and well maintained they pull extremely well. Be careful not to over do it though as they will destroy the transmission if you get overzealous.
@oxhousemedia629
@oxhousemedia629 Жыл бұрын
@@theturnip8288 ok I might need to look for a little more weight for mine, struggles with thr trio will hopefully try it on the combi this time round, pulls a 6.5 carrier at about 10k and a 4.5 simba discs and double press combi at 7-8k so not bad for a smallish tractor

Very cool! These tractors earned a reputation for a faulty engine design that they didn’t really deserve. The engine itself was well designed and was in fact over built for the power it made in the 8850. Deere had plans for that engine to produce considerable more power in future applications but that was never realized after the reputation plunged. The biggest design flaw was actually the frame not being stiff enough and applying stress to the engine block. Many 8850’s have run well over 10,000 hrs before needing overhauling. In the pay loaders the same engine frequently made 20,000 hours before needing major repairs. Thanks for the video!
