These pro linear/ pro restrictive Zelda shouts make no sense. YOU can limit yourself. ? The games do not require you to be an engineer or artist they simply allow scope for you to get creative big or small & instead of acknowledging that KZfaqrs vocally ask for shackles and restraints on their gameplay when again A) The game’s abilities are already restricted B) You can always limit yourself and often most people do bed they’re just not creative like that Never makes sense. Just say you don’t like being creative and want to have dumbed down mechanics with only 1 way to approach things

I have never heard anyone criticize it other than myself. While I agree that it is an amazing game, it is my least favorite in the trilogy. I just never meshed with the combat, which makes it very hard to go back to for me. I loved the story, and that really carried the game for me. I tried replaying it when it came to Switch, but having experienced the story, I wasn't able to get past the combat.

Loved the OG on Wii. What I like about the definitive edition is that the character models look way better. Plus you can choose what they look like regardless of equipped armor. Also the side quests are much easier since they actually have markers to give you an idea of where you need to go. In the OG you just had to explore and hopefully stumble across it. Or just having to constantly look up walkthroughs.

Having played the game, I think the issue is that it was overhyped. There are good and bad things about the game. The bad things is quite a lot of the characters need time to shine. Also the talent art system and chain attack systems are a little underbaked and were done much better than the later iterations. You needing Monado Enchant to even do damage to Mechon enemies is legitimately awful and makes battle through the later areas a slog unless you hang on to the Anti-Mechon weapons which at that point is even the game admitting that feature is bad. The AI is also bad. Not having a button to have your party target a particular monster makes some of the battles more chaotic than they need to be. But the world and setting is gorgeous. It does the best at making you feel like you're fighting on something living. And it's really good for Monolith's first shot at a new series. The part where I take issue is where Xenoblade 1 fans spent a LOT of time bashing the later games which personally made me pretty jaded when I went into DE after having dropped the DS version. I still had a fun time with the game except for some sections, but it has a lot of areas that are rough around the edges that fans would do a great service to themselves if they admitted to these faults instead of wasting time bashing other parts of the series.

I got into Xenoblade in 2020 with the release of DE in a quest to expand my horizons, trying to play at least one game from every series represented in Smash. For some people, quarantine reminds them of playing Animal Crossing New Horizons for hours; for me, I remember being enraptured by the world, story, and characters of the Bionis and Mechonis. The Xeno franchise is my favorite in gaming and something I try to recommend to as many people as I can if they show any interest. It is profoundly beautiful.

The hate towards this game makes no sense to me, the issues with this game are no more glaring than the shortcomings of the others. It's widely regarded to have the best story and dungeons of the 3D Zelda games, yet these same people rank it last or second to last.

I played both the "open air" games, and while I did enjoy myself, they left the Zelda itch unscratched. They just didn't give me what I look for in a Zelda game. Aside from the obvious aspect of the dungeons, I miss getting completely unique items throughout the game that open new paths, which is the antithesis of the "open air" philosophy. I don't want to be able to go anywhere at any time, because I enjoy the feeling of the world opening up with every new item.

My opinion of the series in general would be a lot more positive if they had mercy and finally cut out the insane grinding sessions and essencially mandatory guide-autopiloting for completionism that is in every game. Every game except Torna and FR and Torna has other major problems keeping it down. I swear, even tho FR also has some really annoying flaws, it is legit the best game in this series right now(that I played, still waiting for X fanservers) and that is actually kinda bad because it is the least standalone game in the series, tough time to tell new players that the best part is all the way over there, when they may not even be committed enough to play more than a single game. Also yeah, this series has somehow randomly become a hyperfixation of mine when playing through 2 and that was like at least a year ago? At this point, I doubt I can remove this series from myself anytime soon, which makes the flaws in these games even more frustrating because I want to enjoy the thing I am passionate about, but it would feel wrong to not engage with them beyond beating the story. 🤧

Game that is universally loved and definitely over rated: Final Fantasy 7. Game that is universally loved (or was for a very long time) and NOT over rated: Xenoblade Chronicles. Seriously Xenoblade Chronicles is the game that deserves the universal praise and reverence that for some reason Final Fantasy 7 seems to get in spades, even though Final Fantasy 7 isn't even half the game Xenoblade Chronicles is. And yes, I realize they are different generations, but Takahashi proved that you could tell just as incredible of stories on PS1 (looking at you Xenogears) and I am considering technological differences when making this statement.

I bought xenoblade chronicles on wii back in 2013. I played for about 10 hours and put it down. Picked it up a year later, restarted and did about the same 10-15 hours and out it down. I got XC2 when it came out even though i didnt beat 1, played it for about 20 hours, put it down. It wasnt until DE came out on the switch where it finally clicked and i fell in love with the series. I love the series dearly now, 1 still being my favorite.

Xenoblade 1 is the most liked and well respected Xenoblade game by the general RPG and gaming community. But the actual Xenoblade community sees it as the weakest game in the main series because a lot of them think simple = bad. Just because XC1 doesn’t have as many long tragic backstories, deep pieces of lore that take hours to explain, and big implications about the rest of the Xeno series and future of the series all covered with theory potential, these fans think that makes XC1 worse and they can be loud about it. Much louder than XC1 fans who nowadays are pretty quiet and a lot of them have either left or mostly stay away from the current Xenoblade community because the loud fans can be annoying, and they sometimes dogpile on people who are just trying to talk about why they like XC1 with comments about how the sequels are better.

Xenoblade 1 is a great game but there are just a few things that 2 and 3 do better. Xenoblade 2 has the better music villains and side quests. Xenoblade 3 has the better gameplay and open world and again better side quests. for an open world game good side quests are very important and 95% of xenoblade 1 side quests are fetch quests and future connected expect you to have done the only voiced side quest which many people don't even know exists. And about future connected it is a good DLC but it is nothing compared to torna the golden country and future redeemed those two DLCs are basically their own game

This is such a fantastic video. It's always great to hear your perspective on the Xenoblade games and I definitely agree with a lot of the things you had to say here. I think the characters and villains of this game are fantastic. The music of the game is still incredibly iconic. Also I never noticed that the flute melody was used in the DE arrangement of Xenoblade until now! Manami Kiyota is so underappreciated. I feel like it also stands out among the Xeno series because of Yoko Shimomura bringing her style to this game. But even though her music set the tone at the start we hear more and more from everyone else as we get further in and Kiyota definitely brought her A game for it. I feel like the community is definitely divided on what installments are good or bad now. It's a shame see sometimes. I think the only Xeno game I'm not much of a fan of is Xenosaga Episode 2, and even then I still appreciate the story we got from that installment. Also it brought us the gift of Yuki Kajiura music to the franchise, I'm curious to know if you're familiar with her style or what you'll think of it in contrast to Mitsuda's when you get to playing Xenosaga yourself. Episode 1 definitely feels very different from Episodes 2 and 3 due to the changes made to the staff while they were developed. Anyways, sorry for focusing so much on Xeno music. There's so much that makes these games great and Xenoblade 1 wouldn't have give MonolithSoft the opportunities it did if it wasn't a fantastic game. At the end of the day the answer this video delivers is that Xenoblade 1 is still undoubtedly a masterpiece!

Thank you for watching and yes, Shimomura and Kiyota really truly shine with this OST! I'm really looking forward to playing Xenosaga. I think Mitsuda does XS1 right? But I heard 2 and especially 3 have some phenomenal songs. I'm curious to see what I think of it. I've been doing a bit of research into the development of that series and I can really see Takahashi's ambitions really growing with this and forming the basis of what will become Xenoblade. I really hope we get remasters soon...!! 🙏🏽

Xenoblade 1 was the game that made me realize that video games were art. I never knew music could have such a strong impact on the story and emotions until I played it. Well, I did kind of know, but I didn't think about it much until this game. The biggest impact the game had on me is with Melia herself. Her entire character arc, having a crush on Shulk and never having that feeling reciprocated, having high expectations to live up to and feeling like she always had to prove herself, not being able to accept love from others until they leave your life, all of those hit me like a truck. Melia was me. Through this story, seeing how she can perservere through all her struggles, never losing her sense of self and duty to her people, she inspired me. Her story help me grow up. I was a freshman in college, and it was a transitional time period for me, and this game had helped me move forward with my life, finding my own future.
