At the beginning I predicted the ass would eventually fall oot of the market and the pipe dream of castles in the air would collapse while my friends were trying to convince me I was wrong because Elon was leading the world in this technology while becoming the richest man on earth. I responded it was by Government stringent unrealistic demands imposed on car manufacturers to the point that even the Germans tried to cheat by inventing falcified figures and paying a heavy price when they got caught. The Tesla problem is that they make it hard to onsell and make repairs impossible by removing features etc. Iphone cars throw away unlike the ford model T which is still supported by 3rd party.

More nonsense. The same sort of FUD was spread when Hybrids appeared in the early 2000s. You need to do better research on this. Consumer Reports is not a reliable source of information on EVs.

A great deal of the information in this video is dated and no longer accurate. The EV landscape is changing / evolving rapidly. Furthermore, mosr of what is mentioned in this video applies to the US. The EV adoption in the EU and China is far higher than the US. It's just a matter of time before catches up. EVs will dominate US new car sales perhaps as early as 2035 and much sooner if the US lets Chinese EVs into the US without tarriffs - but they would obliterate the US automotive industry (except Tesla) because the legacy automakers are currently in no position to compete. This sort of thing happened in the US during the 1970s and 80s when Japanese automakers clobbered the US automakers. History repeats itself and here we are again but this time with Chinese EVs. I find it fascinating to watch this unfold.

Driving a fossil car is like accepting that you neighborhood piss and shit and dump their garbage everywhere. Then pay to get more to do it, with neon signs. Fossil cars smogs up your neighborhood. You live in a toxic smog bobble that kills millions of people. Every fossil car are subsidized $US 31.250 through oil. Oil subsidies: $US 9.000.000.000.000 (International Monetary Fund Numbers). (1/4 of all oil are used for fuel for cars, 72M car are produced a year). 6-8% of all energy in the world are used to refine oil. Norwegian numbers show that you need 5% more electrictrisity to charge all vehicles if they where electric. A corrupt cartel with mostly dictatorships are controlling the price of oil(OPEC). This makes you a slave to dictators.

I just got a Genesis GV70 EV. It's better than a model Y performance in almost every way. I will give it to Tesla on their onboard computer. Genesis will be updating that shortly. They also have the Tesla chargers. I will be getting access to their charging network next year. In the meantime, I get free charging for 3 years at the many Electrify America stations close to me. Tesla's buying process sucks. And insurance is insane. I pre-pay 6 months at a time. It was month 4 out of 6 when I did a quote. It would be 600 more just for that two-month period. The genesis was 95 less for that 2 month period even though the retail purchase was $75K as opposed to the $55K on the model Y. The resale value as opposed to the cost of repair and limited repair options from tesla make it more rich for insurance than it needs to be

@@TheSonyExperiencenice ride! Unfortunately for me, they aren't sold where I live (Minnesota). Genesis has very limited EV production capabilities at the moment and I hope they can ramp to a more sustainable production rate because it is a very nice car. I am curious to see how it will compare with the refreshed Model Y when that comes out in 2025. Rumors suggest a 500-mile battery among other things. As for insurance costs, those are all over the map and is extremely subjective as to the insured person and vehicle. As a card-carrying old fart, my rates are relatively low for my 2022 Model Y Performance and my incredibly young gorgeous wife (I'm required to say that even though she is actually my age) pays about ½ of what I pay for her 2022 Model Y Long Range. Again, highly subjective. That's my 2 scents 💩💩😁

Cars like Toyota Corolla costs around $24000 with 400+ miles range. Why pay so much for EVs? Full solar or solar hybrid maybe another option auto manufacturers should look into.
@thomasruwart1722
@thomasruwart1722 23 сағат бұрын
Why pay so much for an EV? Because my 2022 Model Y Performance is far better than the 2022 Toyota Rav4 not to mention the MY is a blast to drive. The MY also has 50% more cargo space and costs ¼ as much to operate and maintain. My uncle who owns the Rav4 did say that even though my Tesla can fart, his Rav4 does pass gas.😊 I will say that after driving my Tesla for 2½ years now, I would never buy an ICE or Hybrid vehicle.

Well for example chatGPT is reporting in the first five months of 2024, electric vehicle (EV) sales in the United States saw significant growth compared to the same period in 2023. Total EV sales reached approximately 316,000 units, up from around 268,000 units in the first five months of 2023. This represents an increase of about 18% year-over-year.

1/5 of buyers regretting their purchase is no surprise since the range listed in marketing material is derived from average mixed consumption (WLTP and similar). Highway range is around 30% lower than this. A 450km car is actually a 300km car at 120km/h highway speed. And this is from 100% to 0%, which is unrealistic (real range is 10%-20% lower). This surprises many. Lots of cheaper EVs coming to market all the time with 320km range. Which is only 200km highway range (125miles, around 100miles without range anxiety). No wonder people buying these EVs are disapponted. 600km (375miles) EVs are still too expensive for the masses. Home charger makes a massive difference to EV experience. But most people living in big cities don’t have one. You need an house. Some apartment buildings have parking halls and many are installing chargers to every parking place, but it takes time. It was a two year project to install 140 chargers in our parking hall for example. It’s getting better, but some early adopters will switch back to gasoline instead of waiting.

@@TheSonyExperienceEvery car I have driven (about 500 different makes/models) or owned (22 over 52 years). The "Estimated Mileage" is just that: an Estimate. Actual mileage (hence range) is different and depends heavily on driving conditions, speed, distance, driving habits, ...etc. The variability in mileage can easily be 20% or higher as I have experienced personally over the years.

Not for another 20 to 35 years most people keep a new or near new car for 15 to 25 years before changing again Family, Job or Mobility Issues not being factor in but even that would increase new car sales by 15% at best every decade! It will happen but not in 3 to 15 years like Elon wants us to believe why 1. Cost of EV's vs ICE or Hybrids Upfront 2. Lack of spare parts and trained personal 3. Most Power Grids can not handle a Minimum 2x of power needs nevermind the 4 to 6x expected if we all go EV overnight! 4. Lack of Public Chargers 5. Trouble getting permits and trained personal too install new EV Stations both public and private, Also many homes lack a garage to pack in to charge at home or even a shared parking lot. 6. A new EV is at least 2 to 3 times more Enviromental costs to make and takes around 15 to 20 years to even out its footprint assuming one is using 100% clean energy if not it is closer to 30 to 35 year's to break even never mind make a difference to emissions after all the mining refining and production and shipping or materials parts and finished product are not Emison free and a EV needs more materials from the earth and from further away than most ICE cars or even Hybrids!

I can see from the comments that this KZfaq video has stirred up a lot of comments about how this video is strongly anti electric vehicle from people who like electric vehicle cars. However I worked for 34 years for the Los Angeles DWP. There is one very obvious problem in the state of California and other states in the United States. The problem is this. If there is a large increase in the percentage of electric vehicles. That will be a lot of cars that need electricity recharging. This will result in a large increase in the demand for electricity to charge up all those electric vehicles. The big problem is that the present electrical system is unable to meet this huge increase in the demand for electricity. The electrical system will require that more sources that generate electricity will need to be built. In the state of California most of this would have to come from building electricity generating stations that burn natural gas to generate electricity. Solar and Wind can meet only a limited increase in demand for electricity. The problem is that huge amounts of land has to be covered with either solar panels or wind farms to generate the amount of electricity that one generating station burning natural gas can do. Also wind and solar power output is subject to changes in weather and day and night cycles. A natural gas burning generating station electricity output can be adjusted to whatever is needed by the electrical system, no matter what the weather conditions are or time of day happens to be.

I went balls deep into EVs. My wife and I have 2024 genesis Gv70s. Works great for us. This car has one of the fastest DC fast charging. I have charging at home and after my first bill the combine increase is $60 less per month to have a full tank at all times. I’m leasing and will upgrade to the next gen EVs very shortly. I don’t think you should own EVs but for leases they are great.

Battery Cells are failing at extremely high rates (going faulty not burst into flames!), Thus are proving less Reliable than ICE and Hybrids even Tesla is having these issues with Lithium Ion Cells and they make their own in house! Why Quantity being made means lower Quality Control and higher chance bad batches are going too pass when they shouldn't or not even get tested at all Lower Quality Lithium Salt being refined in China thus more impurities Not enough EV Charging Stations both Public but also in very built up Cities (Newyork, London etc!) not enough room to put private chargers, Also most grids cannot handle the extra demand on the grid adding 500,000 EV's to one city is the same as doubling the demand on the grid overnight when most grids are barely coping with standard Usage in Hot or Cold weather!

Looking at the title of this video, I knew this would be filled with lies. I drive a plug-in hybrid, which was okay for four years ago. We're now shopping for a full EV. Most people drive about 60 kilometres a day maximum, and my PHEV only had 40 kilometres, so I was needing to go to the pump once a month. That's better than a full gas vehicle, but I don't have the time to wait for a Costco gas station 30+ minutes, when I could just go home, plug in the car and have a full battery when I need it. Everything that's listed in this video is a case of picking up the worst EV stats possible, except for Teslas, which this video seems to be in love with, but is still trying to bash. Cherry-picking of stats and filling in the rest with lies, this video is as useless as you can get.

The five REAL reasons EV sales are tanking: 1) The average American is so improperly schooled that they can't spell EV 2) People think the cars need to always be plugged in and they don't have a long enough extension cord to get to work 3) People aren't falling for Electric Vehicles. They're holding out for Electronic Vehicles. 4) Electric cars have to run hot like toasters and people don't want to contribute to global warming 5) Not enough cupholders
