Thanks for this. I think my Power Valve could be reason mine is starting well from cold but then goes and stalls and drops revs and backfires. I cannot see the location of it exactly. Have I missed it?

I think I may have gotten the vaccuum lines messed up because it only runs on one carb, would you know what would be the cause of that? I tried spraying fuel while it was chopping on 2 cylinders into the intake and all 4 cylinders will fire but the passenger side carb seems to do nothing

Hello, my friend just bought an 85 prelude and when first started cold it runs fairly good except the throttle can't be just pushed halfway or all the way when starting out, you have to give it a little pedal and then slowly ease into it. Once the engine gets warmed up it can barely run and even floored the rpm doesn't go beyond 2 to 3000. It acts like it's running very rich. I suspect the choke isn't going off, but I'm new to these dual carbs with electric, vacuum, and the thermowax control and don't know where to start looking. There is the lever that sits outside the step plate that the wax rid moves, on ours the lever isn't connected to the round rod that goes up to a diaphragm? 0:41 rod going almost straight up on right side if screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

Hey tim, I recently just finished putting together my 84 Canadian 1.8, which has the dual keihin carbs. Before I try to start it I could not for the life of me figure out where the number 22 vaccuum line goes, I think it varies on specific models because there is another prelude at the junkyard but on that I could not figure it out either. I rebuilt the carb using your videos by the way, thank you so much they helped a lot.

Today I found one of my floats had pin holes near the top seems, so for now, I used a soldering iron to melt them closed. I was only able to locate motorcycle floats but I am not sure how they will work. Do you know where I can get new floats? I will probably just put them back in the car tomorrow. Thanks for the video. Been battling this carb setup for years. Ever consider deleting all the vacuum hoses? There a guy who did so and posted it on the internet. I believe it's titled "Getting rid of the Spaghetti" I spent a lot of time trying to get these carbs to run correctly. Etanol on fuel ruins the old floats.

Hello I have an 87 Prelude SI and I noticed you are one of the few people who have knowledge about this car. I wanted to ask if you have ever done the rear brakes, more specifically trying to take off the caliper bracket and what is the best way to get it off because the bottom bolt is blocked by suspension components that would be a pain to take off.. Unless that is the only way. Also wanted to ask if you ever had the PGM-FI light come on, more specifically the ecu giving off code 12 which is supposedly the EGR valve. However, I replaced the EGR valve and this hasn't fixed my issue. What happens when this light comes on after driving for some time, my idle rpms increase. It can increase up to 1700 rpm. I wonder if you had a similar issue or have an idea. Thanks

Hi Tim, thanks for posting these videos! I live in Colorado and own a red 83 purchased almost two years ago, non-operational with 145,000 miles. I thought I'd buy a rebuilt Keihin carb and tinker with the one off the car, so I went to find a rebuilt carb online with no success, ouch. So I had a local carb shop rebuild, I had to remove and bring it to them, and then replace it in the car afterwards, and let me tell you! I don't need to tell you anything, because according to my notes there were about 43 different connections to the carb assembly, vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, wires. You're one of the only people who truly could understand what I've experienced. The result is, it's drive-able and passed the emissions requirement. However it's lacking some power, and the power feels inconsistent. Anyway I have come to like the car a great deal. I feel sorry that I need to sell it. I'm glad to have found another enthusiast. I have reached out to you today to offer you, or any of your friends, the first chance to buy this stunning business coupe. Let me know if you'd like to see pictures of the car.

H22 swap/ K swap/ B series/ Easier then finding another underpowered 2.0 that only makes 80 hp. Motors are still cheap at the junkyards…if the car is worth it.👍🏼
