What’s weird my tinnitus went away for three years and then all of a sudden it came back so only thing I could think of is I took ginkgo biloba that was different it also I normally don’t take showers. I take baths and wash up. I took a shower the only two things I did that day when I started coming back weird I know.

If you have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction it can cause tinnitus. I've had tinnitus for 3 months now after a particularly bad ear infection (due to Influenza Type A) and it's not going away, I suspect it is permanent. Anyway for more info there is a r/etd/ and /r/tinnitus subreddit you can visit and discuss your symptoms, but don't stay too long or it will make you depressed. Tinnitus can really negatively affect mental health and it's best to distract yourself with something else and not dwell on it too much.

I thought that it wasn’t coming from the ear itself but from a part of your brain related to hearing that isn’t functioning right.

i got tinnitus when there was pressure in my ears, so i did a maneuver(forgot what it was called) where you close your nose and mouth and you breathe out of your nose, i did it accidentally did it WAY too hard, thought my eardrums were about to pop off my ears, then after that 5 minutes of pure pain and panic, i hear a high "eeeeeee" in both of my ears, and it was extremely loud, i panicked so much, checked google and it said it wasn't curable, which made me panic even more. after approximately 20 minutes of getting tortured by this painful noise, not to mention this was in the middle of the night, i checked youtube for a cure, none of them worked. so i tried yawning and it worked. i was so relieved i wanted to cry. i learned to not take silence for granted.

Thank you for your interesting video. I would like to consider myself an audiophile as I enjoy listening to music through my decent audio equipment which includes a pair of Martin Logan electrostatic ESL 9 loudspeakers. Sadly, I have noticed recently that my higher frequencies are failing. (I will be 79 this year? When I cup my hands behind my ears the sound from the speakers is so much more detailed. Testing my ears with a good pair of headphones, I hear little over 8khz. After doing some web browsing on hearing aids/ear pods, I came across these Apple Airpod pro 2 and the Sony CRE E10 which both appear to be more suited for high fidelity listening than purpose made hearing aids? My question regarding the Apple Airpod Pro2 (and the Sony if possible), does the frequency range extend to at least up to 16khz and what is the sample rate of the DAC processor within the pods, assuming it is digital and not analogue? My mobile phone is an android device, but I am prepared to buy a cheap reconditioned iPhone in order to run the setting-up software. Presumably, once set up to my liking, I would not need to keep the iPhone switched on? I would much appreciate any advice you or others can offer me. Thank you R.

My tinnitus began due to severe ear infections from childhood to mid adulthood, so I don't think mine is caused by an extra bone. My dad suffered from tinnitus all his mid adult life till death due to his loud work environment. Therefore, I don't believe tinnitus is caused only by additional bone. I think abuse of the nerve that leads from the ear to the brain through constant loud noise could be another cause and also another cause is multiple severe ear infections.

In Iraq I watched though night vision goggles this town get hit with bombs, at least one bomb a second. After a few minutes I turned off my NVG's and tried to catch some sleep. The next morning we drove through that town and I got out, you could see the shells of the buildings on the ground floor, but all of the rubble from the buildings was gone, there wasn't anything burnt or smoking, the roads where clear of rocks, it was all way to clean, there wasn't a pile of stone big enough for a person to hide behind, as far as the eye could see, this huge city, leveled, block after block of buildings that weren't there anymore but all the rubble was gone. My head couldn't make sense of what I was seeing, it was impossible, my head kept shouting HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! and then... a ringing started in my ears building to a deafening pitch, I started to feel slightly sick, and my vision started to fade, I would've lost consciousness if I hadn't stumbled back to my truck and focused on breathing. the ringing faded as quick as it started, what was that ringing, it wasn't tinnitus, whatever it was it was brought on by a sudden traumatic event, my brain just couldn't process what it was seeing and... had some kind of shut down.

I had my hearing tested about 15 ears ago at Costco's hearing center. I was told that I didn't hear the upper range, and that they didn't make hearing aids for that. I assumed they meant "the industry" didn't make them. Now I am wondering if they meant "Costco" didn't make them?

I have seen many specialists all to no avail. They just took my money and told me I had Tinnitus. Wow, wow. Then they told me there is no cure. Wow, Wow. Now if it's caused by damaged hair cells, then why is it that someone who has had tinnitus for many years, wakes up one day and the tinnitus has gone? Are you telling me that some how miraculously the hairs have come back to life. I doubt it.

I got tinnitus when I had a cold two years back. I became anxious and depressed as I could hear it even when I am talking to my family members. Thankfully it died down to a point where I could only hear it while falling asleep, and if I don’t think about it I won’t hear it. But once I think about it I will feel anxious for a few days
