Don’t trust the rated power specification. It should not be compared with the one of solar panels. Wind turbines are rated at the wind speeds that are never achievable in an ordinary residential area, while solar panels just work and deliver.

If it was a vertical axis then it would capture the wind from any direction. What you have is something that will move into the wind and that is lost energy. It would be more efficient up an down because no matter which way the wind comes from it will capture the wind. You only have 1 direction that it can get the energy. As it sits now it would not be worth the cost.

I would like to know how the claimed efficiency figure were arrived at? Efficiencies are only able to be compared when the inputs and desired outputs are the same. Obviously in this instance the input sources are quite different thus incomparable. You get the same nonsense going on when people claim private enterprise is more efficient than social or public enterprise,except in this example it is the outputs which are not the same and hence not comparable.
