Hi mate i think the engine was very smooth and pulled a big car like this very well this car is a mild hybrid so it does have some assistance from an electric motor in terms of it being underpowered i wouldnt say it is but then that depends on what you expect from it 9.9 seconds to 60mph from a 2ltr diesel at nearly 2 tonne aint bad and tbh you dont feel the weight it pulls very well and fuel economy is fantastic. If your looking for brutal power then you need a 3.0d they are far more aggressive but the 2.0litre is more than enough for most applications so to sum it up i would say the car is very nice to drive it was more than what i expected from the kind of vehicle it is refinements are very nice and drive is very smooth and comfortable i wouldn't shy away from it without a test drive i think you will be satisfied aslong as your not expecting v8 performance.

If the mascot is lifted and the plate pushed down it will release and drop into the grill sometimes just moving the mascot to the side will drop it down its a safety device to stop injury i believe. You can buy a lockable cover for it from flyingspares.com for 125 quid so once the mascot has dropped into the grill the cover will fit onto the recess in the grill and lock it. I used to have one on a rr i had with a everflex roof but sold that car years ago

The headliner wouldn't bother me because you can use one from any w210 in the same colour and plenty of them still breaking i would just buy a second hand one and change it out but if 224k is mileage then 10k is a crazy price you can buy cars near 100k miles for lower than 8k pounds that is

Love these, and owned a tuned/modded M140i for 4 years myself. I don't like the blacked out everything look personally, it looks too chavved up, and every man and his dog is doing the same thing. I prefer original cars, with mechanical mods, the sleeper look. For the money, they are great cars, as they have dropped to 15 grand for higher mileage examples, and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the B58 doing higher mileage. One thing I am worried about, is that these will end up like the Subaru Impreza Sti, and almost all of them will get ruined and thrashed to death, reducing their value, and you will see them on every council estate in the UK, slammed with a pops & bangs map. Another thing I realised in my 4 years of ownership, is : no matter how much money you spend on mods, the chassis is no different to any low spec 1 series, and even if you spend 15 grand fitting a diff, bracing, polybushes, better dampers, M3 arms to get more camber, wider wheels/tyres, etc, although it will be much better than a standard car it will never be close to a real M car. The B58 engine, and ZF8 gearbox are both unreal, and a bit of tuning to both, turns a fast car into a straight line missile. But, the ride/damping, the wobbly back end wiggle when accelerating, the cornering ability, the steering, will always leave you feeling disappointed, and lacking, compared to a real M car. I bought an OG M2 7 weeks ago, and although I feel I have taken a slight step backwards with the N55 engine, the M2 is on another level for steering, ride, damping, cornering, and balance. Absolutely night and day difference. The M2 also looks much nicer than the M140i too, and I know it will never drop in price to the low levels the M140i is destined to, and wont drop into the hands of boy racing chavs.

😂😂😂 you know what mate even here alot of mot stations will fail it just to create work for themselves but if you can find somebody honest they will give you their honest opinion and only fail it if there is an issue and at that point i dont mind getting the work done aslong as it is justified. But 2 times a year i think is a bit much😂 happy with the once a year and when a car is over 40 years old in the uk it is given historic status so mot testing is no longer required but you can continue to have it done if you wish.

@@M-POWER777 The 'problem' with the open diff on the M140i, is that you never realise how much you need one, before it's too late. I owned a tuned and modded M140i (455bhp/645nm) for 4 years, but thought I didn't need the diff. I had lots of fun, and had the back end out regularly, and it seemed controllable, which it was, when I knew it was going to drift and I had provoked it deliberately. One day, in traction off mode, I had been for a hoon, kicked it's head in for an hour, and was going home and driving normally.... I pulled away from a roundabout on a dual carriageway in traction off mode, probably 1/3rd throttle input, and hit a patch of diesel spillage on the road. The car slid sideways which I held, but soon as it got past the slippy and back to the grippy, it spat me round 180 in a fraction of a second, nothing I could do, and it left the road backwards into a tree writing the car off. This is a car I had been sideways in hundreds of times, yet it was uncontrollable when it went, and I hadn't deliberately provoked it and knew it was going to slide. I now have an OG M2, the difference is night and day, the M2 is levels above, and shows just how poor the M140i actually is for handling.
