@@humorinpolitics56 Everything comes around in waves. I think in time the game will get back to making fundamentals matter. Right now it’s not about talent as it use to be and it’s more about metrics and numbers. If those numbers say swing like this, hitters will start training a certain way to achieve those numbers and that’s what’s wrong.

Bc it’s harder to hit the ball if you’re view of the baseball is changing
@cwayebaseball11 күн бұрын
@@faithfulphysician4667 Yes and mainly because a hitters’ eyes are relaying information with regard to velocity, trajectory and location to the brain and hitters moving their head will cause that information to not be accurate or change it while the baseball is on its way to the play and the ball moves to fast for the brain to adjust at that point.

This is not even the most challenging part. The ball is moving faster than the object trying to hit it. Point of contact is the most challenging part of the game. Not just how fast it is. Plus direction variation on pitches and timing change.

In lacrosse they are actually trying to hit your net, whereas in baseball, they are trying to get you to swing and avoid you hitting the ball
@sarvisanarella7202Ай бұрын
Do they go 100+ miles per hour with a smaller ball that’s being spun in ways to get spin and rotation and movement? The pitchers job is to make the ball unhittable. Lacrosse you want your team to catch the ball

@GdujjbghАй бұрын
That’s correct but In my experience the kids who don’t think about following through and extension tend to start to decelerate the bat before contact.
@cwayebaseballАй бұрын
I completely understand @gdujjbgh. I think the trick to help them with that is to get hitters to understand that hand speed is more important than power. Kids these days I don’t think really understand that them being able to accelerate from the time they trigger their swing through contact and out of the hitting zone is the most important thing for them to work on. A lot of the talk is about power and kids think trying to hit a baseball over a fence is what’s important when hand speed is the most important thing. Power is developed in the weight room.
