First car I bought on my own was a 1969 Datsun 1600. Great fun, particulary when the top was down.

Takes a lot to get them sorted out, but a great car once finished. I have owned two of them, it is an awesome driver and very roomy compared to a 911. The shifter is the best I have experienced compared to any Porsche.

I’ve always like the euro 500SL, with the higher compression engines and euro bumpers. The US model looked awful in comparison. This conversion seems very well done. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about the steering and transmission, which are decidedly un-sporty.

I had a 69 2000. It had 489,000 miles on it when I sold it. I rebuilt the engine at 70k when it threw a rod. 419,000 on the rebuild, it was bulletproof.

Always loved the Pantera. Still do. One negative about this build is the placement of the intake scoop. Rear facing in a cavern? That's a negative pressure zone unless there are some hidden body mods. If not, that intake position is starving the engine. Wonder how much horsepower it's losing. Relocate the air intake .

I still remember the first time I saw one of these. It was 1992 and I was living in Montpellier. I was walking down the street and suddenly stopped to gawk at a purple 968. My American friend couldn't figure out why I was so fascinated, but I guess he didn't know what were looking at. I still like the look 30+ years later.

I've followed the Pantera since 1973 before I could drive. I loved it and wanted it. But for me now, the C8 Stingray sets the value of the market for supercars. That means all these alternatives are massively overvalued. I won't be getting a Pantera or NSX. The C8 is the winner for the forseeable future.

The C8 Corvette is an incredible bang for the buck. You simply can't fault the technology in the new 'vette. I am old school and prefer to work on my own cars which is why I like the old stuff and the more uncommon cool cars. I have a 1965 Corvette Coupe which is a blast to drive (in it's own way) and I never see another one on the road when I am driving mine. C8's are everywhere for a good reason....they are a fantastic car. Hope you get one!

The 351 Cleveland 4V heads must breathe really good at 408 cubic inches...for those that aren't up on the 351 Cleveland 4V heads, they have canted valves like the BBC with intake valves bigger than the 427 BBC.

Adding cubic inches to a Cleveland V8 makes the 4V heads extremely happy they were born with huge valves.

@PanteraJim

No, all Panteras came with the 351 Cleveland as the stock powerplant until the 1990's when the Pantera Si came with a 302.

People that have never driven a Boxster 986 have no idea of the automotive masterpiece of a sports car this platform is! I have an 02, 3.2 liter, 6 speed, 986 Porsche Boxster S with a Fabspeed exhaust, CAI, catless headers, IPD Plenum/TB, Numeric shifter, Bilstein performance struts, H&R lowering springs, 18×10 in BBS sport classic rims, Polyurethane GT3 front bumper etc... It drives/handles like a dream and sounds absolutely glorious!! Next step is either a lightweight flywheel/clutch or the Fabspeed "Spec Boxster exhaust"... luv this car!! 😂

Tastefully updated Pantera!!!! Looks basically stock, even though the engine and suspension have been upgraded significantly. Personally, I’d have put a Coyote engine in it. It would then have an engine as exotic as the car looks.

Love to hear such passion for such a passion fueled car. The wheel change with 11's on the rear looks magnificent and matches the proportions of the vehicle while adding even more muscularity. And it perfectly fills the wheel arch void - again, a perfect match with the proportions. Great video - enjoyed it immensely

Absolutely one of the most beautiful cars ever made - every angle is perfect. Yes a 288 looks more purposeful and a Countach is more striking, but the 308 will always be the caricature of an exotic car.

The Bruno Sacco SEC, is Timeless, in Every Way… How many of these modified SEC’s were built, and are their any Available? I had the pleasure of a 1991 SEC in Signal Red, w/ Palamino leather…a true blessing, that saved my life, when a errant driver got in my path, and the SEC was sadly totaled. I continue to hope, and search for another SEC, to Pamper, Upgrade a bit, and Enjoy for the Rest of my driving years… Thank you for Sharing your thoughts, praise, and the Upgrades on this particular AMG enhanced Mercedes. Benz SEC. PS: If you happen to come across an SEC, like this beauty, in need of a loving home, please drop me a note, Thanks much, Dennis

When I drive my Black 1986 Fiero GT, it's a driving experience. It gets a lot of looks, and people 40 and under always ask what it is. I can appreciate becoming engaged with going through the gears of the 4 speed manual transmission while creating the crackle of the exhaust when downshifting. The way the road feels inches below you as you carve the pavement feeling the feedback through the steering wheel. It won't throw you back hard. However, it loves to be thrown around a twisty road. Anyone who owns or owns one knows exactly what I mean. That old saying "don't knock it, till you try it" rings true for the Fiero.
