I thought the cc companies automatically cancel your cards once they are notified that you filed. I have some with zero balance on some.

Darn , I have a 20,000 limit with American Express and only a $300, balance. I was not going to include it . What if your just an authorized user on a couple cards. Will they only close your personal cards and not theirs under chapter7 ?

I made it through the 5 years and made my last payment, I'm in the closing end, Thank God, this was the longest 5 years, you were so right, you live on means, being disabled and single, they show no mercy in that monthly payment, it better be there, no excuses. I finalized my chapter 13 this week, when you go file just keep in mind, your mentally going threw even tougher times for 5 years., there is no support system. I followed my program, was short two payments made that up. but they will use this as a throw back, I have paid in over 76,0000, I followed the payment and found out the pay out, last payment was almost 2-1/2 times what was listed. The lawyer wasn't the one advetrised, a paralegal for 3700 and a hour of his time, never heard anymore, dealt with the secretary for the next 59 months, The trustee, never could call back, until i get the BB involved. This has been a nightmare, I'm trying hard to mentally get back on track. The last person a trustee was the nicest and is getting me closed out as fast as possible,

Sounds like you might be better off to just stop paying your debts and let them drop off in 7 years. Especially if you live in a state where they cannot garnish your wages and you do not own a home that a lien could be placed on.

I filed Chapter 13, should of never did it! I wish people will be honest going in I agreed to a 100% plan the trustee sent 2 realtors to my home saying I had 2 much equity. Anyway I feel like doing voluntary dismissal. Selling my home getting all my money. And getting a place under my daughters name or just settling the debts myself.

I have to disagree with his opinion on chapter 13. My monthly payments were 20% of what I was paying on credit cards and such. If you are disciplined and don't overspend it's a great option. Especially with our current economy in the US.

If you owe 60k the max payment per month is 1k. If you have 5k in disposable income then you keep 4k

So selling junk and old items at say a garage sale before filing could be considered fraudulent transfers?

I am in the last year and it can be done. Was it worth it? I don't know, if you can you should pay everybody back what is owed. Again, if you can. If you are just using the system, it doesn't matter what you do. What comes around goes around.

My servicer is putting the wrong year on my payments they're manipulating my payments and trying to say I haven't paid anything on the past due balance from my forbearance also the amount that they had me to resume paying my my ex servicer Wells Fargo when I did my bankruptcy they didn't lower the amount the $58,000 that was supposed to be exempt and I'm still paying taxes on all of it too
