Mattie Montgomery is a man that walks the walk with his faith. He is a humble and kind human being. I was blessed enough to cross paths with him in Toronto Canada. I went to a show with For Today and Stray From The Path. It was to showcase the Breaker album. For Today put on an awesome show. I got turned around and walked through the wrong doorway. I was standing in a room with a bunch of people and wasn’t sure where I was. A few people seemed very surprised I was there and I had a feeling I was not supposed to be there. I apologized, and felt embarrassed and Mattie stood up and came over to me. He made me feel more comfortable by being friendly and talked to me. He was genuinely kind to me when he didn’t have to be. Thank you for showing me humility that night my friend. I am still a fan of your music and relive that show when I listen to the. Breaker album still. You are truly a good man and I will never forget that kindness you showed me. Thank you.

I have yet to meet one Atheist who can answer this question. Why on earth would the man writing of the resurrection of Jesus Christ give credit to a woman of all people of finding the tomb to be empty? In a society where woman's word was not worth anything in any courtroom, why would he do that if it was fake? Tell me, tell me why.

Bro let me tell you I believe that God didn't call you to worry about proving Atheist there wrong and there is a God, but rather love with them with the same that Jesus loves you and eventually they will see that the thing you have inside of you which is the Holy Spirit and they are gonna want to have it, then it will be your time tell them about Jesus and hopefully they will accept him, but even if they don't just keep loving them because eventually they will accept him. It's all about love man not knowledge, God bless you brother

Rafael Ferretti True, we are called to love people, however, sometimes, we need to back that up with knowledge of what we believe in. Sometimes, we need to provide arguments for why God is the only way that leads to salvation, and get people to see the fallacies of their own beliefs. What I am NOT saying is that we need to be militant and in people's faces just out to destroy them and win an argument. That is NOT the right way to do anything. I've seen too many people be turned away from the possibility of salvation through Jesus because someone decided to be nasty, insulting, and just try to defeat them in an argument by any means necessary. Me personally, I like what Greg Koukl, a very good Christian apologist, said about debates. "I'm not out to win an argument, my goal is to plant a pebble in their shoe." I'm paraphrasing the quote, but that's basically the idea. When you do have to get into a debate, you don't have to win it, you don't have to get an on the spot conversion, all you have to do is say something that will stick with them, something for them to think about. None of us can convert people on our own, that's the Holy Spirit's job, and he's very good at it. What our job is, is to share the good news of Jesus and the salvation that he brings. That requires the love that you were talking about, and on occasion it will require a debate or two where we need to stand up for what we believe and present our evidence that God is real and that he is the only way to salvation. Whether it's the argument that Chris used (which happens to also be one of my favorites when dealing with people who believe that the bible is nothing but made up trash that people wrote just to gain control over our lives and our wallets) or just the overwhelming love that you pour out for them in the name of Jesus, all we need to do is share. why did god kill innocent children to prove he's powerful, why are children dying every day even ones who pray to heal them but when a pastor prays to find his missing car keys or some bullshit your god apparently helps them. why did god kill innocent people who didn't believe in him at first but saw his "wonders" and said he is god. he had them killed even though they proclaimed him god. tell me how an all merciful and loving god has less moral values than a human being? because it's all bullshit.

MaharlikaAWA What I think Mattie was saying is that you don't HAVE to read the Bible cover to cover for Christ to call you son. You don't have to study the Bible in order to be saved. If you listen to Mattie preach you'll soon realize he encourages it. As do many other "christcore" band members. Go listen to Tommy Green from Sleeping Giant preach. Mattie and Tommy have changed my life in ways I can never even comprehend because they have shown me how to get closer to the Worth Lamb. I hope you can understand. With love, God bless!

the only way to know and to get closer to God is to read His word. it's every Christian's living bread. our spirit cannot live if we don't feed it with God's word. How will you be able to know and claim God's promises for you if you don't read His Word? :) How will you be able to conquer any problem you face when you don't know God's Word that would strengthen you? We should on the other hand FOLLOW THE BOOK and such THEOLOGIC CONCEPTS TAUGHT BY SAID BOOK. And I love how you hyper charismatic ecumenicals have no respect for the bible and claim it is an idol and make up your own theological concepts outside of the bible and pretend they are not theological concepts.

regardless or anyone's thoughts/opinions/beliefs in regards to religion (including my own), this mans passion for music and what he believes in is REAL. The conviction he has is rare. If I were to choose to go to church, I would at least prefer this man as the "pastor" because he does NOT lack conviction, does NOT lack heart, does NOT lack passion. The kind of man who could lead you into a battle and you'd be glad to stand beside him. True conviction is contagious.
