Dick Dale, was the first mention of heavy metal. The Fender Stratocaster was made for a left-handed surf guitar player because he was so hard on the body. So fender created a guitar that could handle some metal abuse.

I find it very unlikely that four young guys from a damp, black English industrial city felt that much connection to the beach. Fun fact: I think its impossible to find an Englishman being on a beach for leisure, unless the beach is Spanish. You can usually spot them by looking after the ones that wear socks with their sandals.

This is absolutely a proto-metal album. I personally believe it has a much larger impact on Heavy Metal than Zeppelin 1 and it sits right next to Sabbaths debut.

Real fuckin innovators and an important part of rock history. Love their treatment of this old blues standard (which sounds like it was recorded in an abandoned hardrock mine!)

Agree completely. They are severely overlooked and extremely underrated, despite the fact their contribution towards hard rock history is unquestionable.
