Why was it, at the end when Malcom flashes back to coles confession, we hear him say "i see people" rather than "i see dead people"?

'Midnight Cowboy' and 'East Rider' debuted in '69. I saw them both upon release. The former still holds up marvelously today, while the latter is unwatchable, and has been for quite some time. It is both incredibly dated and cinematically self-conscious.

I'm glad he cut those scenes out. The movie was perfect the way it was. Specially that first one would have been too much info.

I was not crazy about the overall movie (I was 17) but LOVED the character relationship between Dustin and Jon. That in itself was the movie.

M night should’ve kept the last scene. It would have made it a very emotional conclusion of the film and highlight bruce Willis acting chops

When I realized that was Donnie Wahlberg in that role I was beyond surprised. Both Donnie and Mark are way better actors than they are musicians..imo

Just watched this movie last night for the first time and found it was a cultural touchstone that tapped into an arc of American loneliness. I found the acting didn't hold up (Dustin Hoffman seemed a bit forced) and the film tried to do too much in several points of the movie but the films cinematography and musical score profoundly revealed something in the middle of the movie that was haunting

I like when actors discuss roles they played. Why they wanted the role. Stories from filming etc. Thats interesting. What i hate is the pretentiousness that drips from some of these actors when they discuss their craft. Their art. Bro, You're playing make believe to entertain the masses. Thats it. I hate when actors get philosophical about movies.

When I saw Taxi Driver at the cinema in the 70's i remember thinking that the young hooker would do well in acting. I didnt know she was so young, but thought how good she performed, Almost nicked a few scenes from Pacino.

A Great Movie, Soundtrack and Two Young Actors playing Characters of lifetime! Fantastic writing, editing and casting! I was 13 when Midnight Cowboy hit the theaters rated X! But my Mom saw it and there was nothing dirty about it! But it was a great movie with a sad tragic ending! Saw it much later and thought it was a Great Movie but also the sad ending! Like my Mom, hers had a sad ending too! Have on DVD but my favorite way! Is on VHS like watching it again on film at the theater! Really enjoyed the interview and listening to Dustin & John and the whole crew!

I understand what you mean,I also have phobia to nude kind of clothes and probably she felts more comfortable with sporty or less revealing kind of clothes but in acting you'd wear what the character requires and she did an amazing role
