I wouldn’t say the Gila Valley isn’t an “outdoorsy” community. There’s plenty of people throughout the community who are actual outdoorsmen, avidly hunt/fish/hike etc. Lots of cowboys and rodeo types as well. We just get our outside time in a different way.

Nice work! Been Mountain Biking AZ since the 90s. Incidentally, I didn't find Mt. Graham trails to be rough compared to Redington or parts of the AZ Trail, but so beautiful. Thanks for reminding me of what I'm missing. Cheers!

Thanks for making this Pivot. Shoutout to Evan P. and SDMB for making this happen! SDMB's a fantastic advocate for Southern AZ mountain biking! Also shout out to Kirk A. for his work with SDMB.

I’m a local in Safford and I’m an avid Dirtbike rider and have a love for mountain biking. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you have put in. I can’t wait to get up the and ride these trails. I would have loved to be apart of this. From here on out I would be happy to help. Hope you respond so I can contribute in some way in the future. Thank you!

I’ve spent several weekends with SDMB fixing up these trails and riding them. Huge progress over the last few years. More people should ride it (and volunteer to maintain it)!

Wouldn't take a Canyon out there. If you break a proprietary part you'll be without a bike indefinitely since Canyon doesn't keep spares

Great work as always Brice. How would you compare Graham Cracker to Lemmon drop? Technicality and physicality?

Just rode Lower Lady Bug with a group. Challenging, but epic and full of amazing vistas.

I’ve been preaching for years that Mount Graham is underutilized. It's literally my backyard, and I love escaping the heat, being among the trees, and feeling hundreds of miles away from civilization. I even built a small ranch cottage on my ranch for explorers/riders if they were interested in staying near the moutian. As I pulled onto Swift Trail, I noticed a mountain bike hanging over the tailgate of a pickup truck. At the risk of coming off as a crazy local, I pulled up next to them at 55 MPH, through the rushing wind I asked if they ride locally. It turns out, Brice Shirbach was just finishing up filming THIS amazing series.

This is my home town! So great to see the MTB community help work on those trails and open them up to Mountain Bikes. I can't wait to ride on the trials that I've hiked since I was young.

I was on a crew that worked Mt. Graham back in 2006. Southwest Conservation Corps and Americorps crews. We did tons of work on many miles of trails. What a bummer to hear of the fires! I’m sure glad to see SDMB is getting back out there! It’s a gorgeous place!

I have been riding Mt.Graham for over 25 years. One of my favorite places in Arizona. It was so amazing before the fires of the last 20+ years. I have been helping SDMB with trail restoration whenever I am not building trails at Sunrise Park Resort or in the Pinal Mountains. We are so lucky to have these places to ride our Pivots (and other bikes).

Awesome trail...but 3000ft of climbing on a shuttle run...definitely an adventure!

You can just do the first part which is shannon to arcadia with minimal climbing

I don't think shuttles have to imply all downhill! People are missing out on a lot by avoiding the climbs! You got it!

There is a sad side story. Just west of Charlemont is Savoy State Forest. There used to be 35 miles of multi-use trails in Savoy. For ten years these trails were maintained by the Berkshire Trails Council under contract w the MA Dept of Conservation & Recreation. The BTC was made up of several off-road motorcycle & ATV clubs. Local snowmobilers also provided trail maintenance. Around 2005, several IMBA/NEMBA mtbers lobbied the DCR to close Savoy to off road vehicles. The DCR complied, without a plan to replace this volunteer trail maintenance. These trails no longer exist for any trail users.
