We are an advert and sales free experience - that is just one element that makes Carp Academy unique. Almost all the other content out there is designed to make you buy stuff - we are not into that - we just want to make honest content that will help our members catch MORE carp!

Joes channel is great viewing, not really based on entertainment or selling products, more around his personal angling on the meadows / longreach and then the other side of his channel “ carp angle “ about interviewing other big players in the carp scene.

Amazing angler catches an amazing carp👍 I'm a bit late with this question but, you mentioned you use braid on your spod rod - do you also use a shock leader? If so is it Mono or Flouro Carbon? Thanks - Joe

I know I'm a little late with my post, but I live in US and was wondering if your summer tactics would also work on small ponds where the carp have never seen a boillie before? The pond also gets loaded with weed by the middle of the summer. Thanks Joe

Interesting and informative as always, been following Adam on youtube and sharing his knowledge has helped my fishing no end. I purchased one of the Thermacell Backpacker bug protection units to keep mozzies away but noticed that on the instructions it is very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects and thought it worth pointing out if using it close to lakes etc.

Isn't a heli setup that drops the lead losing the main safety point of a heli setup? In the event of a brake/cut off, the lead is the anchor so the hooklink can slide up the leader so the fish only trails the hooklink, so what happens without the lead?

I think this is very helpful in certain aspects but tbh its why i dont like carp fishing or carp fishermen all they seem to want to do is get the point across that they dont want other amateur carp anglers fishing because they ruin the fishing by over baiting but contradicts himself by saying they are getting natural food and good quality food so how could that be down to amateur anglers and i know he didnt say anything about amateur anglers but its the point he is getting at carp anglers are very selfish people the ammount of times ive had arguments with carp anglers because im on their spot on a lake and its always the same excuse "this is my local lake" they feel entitled as he said the world is in constant changes has been since existence so it is fuck all to do with getting caught too many times a year or people over feeding its called natural change the fish just aint stupid no more lile they was 20 or 30 years ago but there was very good advise apart from that shit at the start ill always be a course angler 😂

Bit of fishery management/maintenance for fish safety wouldn't go a miss here. Even some raking and removal of weed by the angler to create safer spot. Dragging fish through weed with a good chance of rings clogging up ect ? Is it really necessary? We all love a challenge but this seems a bit like creating more of a challenge for the sake of it.

I agree with a lot of your observations about changing weather because I have like many fished through it too and also don’t see the big autumn feed up like there used to be. I could have done without your comment suggesting this is all natural weather fluctuation. Excuse me? When did you become a qualified climatologist. The actual evidence for global warming, the damage to the ozone layer, the melting of the ice caps are all things measured by scientists. Where have you been? The increase in global temperatures is now irrefutable and accepted by governments throughout the world if not by conspiracy theorists. We wouldn’t have all our restrictions on producing greenhouse gases in future, our move to electric cars if global warming wasn’t real. Stick to comments about angling, you are an excellent orator on angling methods. Spending endless time on a fishing bank is no substitute for genuine education and specialist study on subjects like climate change. Your actual angling observations are excellent. But a wise man recognises his areas of specialist understanding. You should stick to what you know. Sorry had to get that rant off my chest when it something I have been educated a good deal about formally. Without that one badly conceived opinion I would have enjoyed the wisdom of your angling experience and understanding. Why did you need to make it though?
