Thanks for the link to the bracelet for the black faced Duro. I ordered one and within two days it arrived. But when it arrived, they had an end link that would fit the Duro like your blue duro. to use those two end links like it goes on your black Durow. So I went to a jeweler who took off the end links that that came with the bracelet, put the two end links that came with the bracelet on and it looks awesome! I was debating about buying that $60 bracelet from Long Island watches but I figure for less than $20. Let me try this bracelet first. I’m going to buy another bracelet for my other Duro. I’m not a big fan of jubilee bracelets, or I would have ordered a jubilee bracelet from Long Island watches. But they are out of stock for both bracelets.

Easy mnemonic for pronouncing this one: the 1977 Toyota Celica was a Mustang "homage in the garage" the other rubbish was "nobody's bowl of porridge" Actually the Bulova is itself just a homage, just that they made it in-house. The original was a mechanical watch, while the new Lunar Pilot is just another make-believe, a high frequency quartz watch, but without thermal compensation, it is not necessarily superior to a good "normal" quartzy. Frankly, I see no reason to spend at minimum about 400 dollars for the cheapest Bulova version on a cloth strap. I'd rather spend only around 70 to 80 for the Seiko/TMI VK63 equipped and much handier and more comfy sized Pagani. As an homage, the Pagani is not perfect for ONE reason (they got everything else right!): The Pagani gets the sub-dials a bit wrong, because of the 24 sub-dial of the VK63 calibre, instead of the Omega's 30min chrono-counter, but that is a minor functional niggle. A real space watch would actually be better with a 24hr dial in my opinion, because you do not have sun-lit "normal" days in orbit at all, so you totally depend on your watch. Given a choice, and given both Pagani and Omega going into a new competition today, and both passing, the Pagani's VK63 dials would win! A 12 hour dial just does not cut it, when a 24hr dial is available. BUT WAIT! History could be way different, if Glycine had entered the 1963 qualification run for the space race, because Glycine was really FIRST in the real vacuum of space in 1965 with the extra-vehicular-activity of Gemini 5, on the wrist of Pete Conrad! For over 2 hours! AND their Airman watch had a real full sized pilot's 24hr dial and calibre, not this silly Earth-bound 12hr toy watch stuff. Yes, I am looking at them, or an homage, because I do not have 2000 bucks for current models There are MANY more, believe it or not! Not a fan of faux patina, but I like watches with a cause like this one. I have the Bulova Hack VWI (Veteran’s Watchmakers Initiative) and a proceed of the price goes to help training of veterans into watchmakers.

That caseback with the carved logo is just awesome.

I love mine but hate it, I have the gold one and is impossible to tell the time with the gold hands unless the light shines on it perfectly. If you are inside good luck, It is faster to pull your phone out to get the time. Every color is the same, the hands are the same color as the back ground making very difficult to see the hands. Beautiful looking watch though.

I bought one of this brand new almost 30 years ago, my first luxury time piece. Not knowing too much about watches at the time, simply picked the brand and the one with most functions on it. Gave it to my younger brother when he got his first job and never seen it until recently. Throughout the years I bought myself more timepieces, another speedy, zenith, seikos, citizens, sinns, grand seikos, Rolexs…and many more micro brands, I literally forgot about this mk40….until recently I offered dropping him couple more watches to wear, he instead of just taking some of mine, suggested to make a swap, and I got my mk40 back, and what a breath of fresh air, after all these years searching for the perfect piece, I only realised I had that all along. Perfect case size for my just under 7” wrist, it’s comfortable over a grey rubber strap, it’s low profile with matte dial that doesn’t scream, comes with all information and functions I would need off a gshock, it’s interesting and looks great. That domed crystal is mesmerising… I mean I can go on and on about it, but long story short, this is just as close as “the” perfect watch out of my entire collection. My only nitpicking, it’s lacking over the water resistance department, making me a little nervous every so very often. If you haven’t got one, go grab a mint one when it’s trading low, you won’t regret it.
