What I like is that he whistles when a room or hallway is completed and ghost-free, now peaceful...but then you have to step into the next area in darkness and the strings kick in again.

I played and finished this games dozens of times as a kid and never noticed that the music changed depending on your health, it’s so well integrated that it just felt completely natural how it sounded if I was full health or low health and just tought it was just the feeling of security that changed while playing.
