He really should keep a ratchet strap or at least some rope around it to keep it closed. Not fun getting out of a wrecked truck and seeing your dinner and drinks spread out all over the woods. We used to have a path along railroad tracks to get to one of the best camping sites and we had to climb up and over the track mound a few times to switch sides along the way. One of the guys ahead of me got a little too brave and took one of the up and overs too fast and rolled his Nissan Pathfinder. The damage was minimal but the cooler busted open and just about everything inside went flying out the broken side window into thick scraggly weeds for about thirty feet. It was pretty awesome that all the beers survived except for one of two that stayed inside the truck. I’m not sure we found all of them but it was pretty close to most. lol Unfortunately we did lose an entire ten pound package of ground beef. We had about 8 or 10 people climbing around in the bushes collecting as much as they could to put back in the cooler while a few of us roped up the Nissan to pull it back on to its wheels. We even told them specifically what to look for, the big pack of burger on styrofoam just like you buy it from the store but nobody could find it. Before we all jumped back in all the trucks and kept moving, one of the women was sort of just standing there staring at the ground and pretending to cry for a second. She was mostly pretending but we could hear she was actually kinda upset deep down inside about something. Someone said “Oh no. What did you find?” She goes “it’s my POTATO SALAAAAD” and keeps up the somewhat fake sobbing for a sec. We didn’t even really know it was in the cooler, most of us. She wanted to surprise us. It was in one of those big Tupperware bowls that would probably hold around a gallon. It was on the ground in a big pile and we scooped up a lot of it into a couple thermoses and travel mugs and stuff then sat there acting like apes eating some of what was left on the ground with our hands to make her laugh. Opened my back gate and the tap on my water jug to let everyone rinse off their hands and faces then we took off driving into the woods again. You know, it’s a bit wild to think I’ve never told anyone that story before and I probably never will again. I doubt anyone else there would have told it either. I guess this lives right here and nowhere else except for in the memories of people who were there. Thanks for bringing that memory back to me somehow with your comment.

⁠​⁠​⁠@@heatshieldas sad as your story is, there is some humor and I’m sure that for the rest of all your days and those present at the time of that incident, I’m sure they too will never forget it and most likely talk about that salad. My pops had old Coleman stove, ice chest, water igloo which back then everything was heavy and made of metal. Those will be my cherished memories of camping as a family and always looking up to my pops as he was the camp leader! But don’t tell him! Shhhh 🤫 The REALITY was My mom really saved the 3 of us kids from starvation not my Dads fishing capabilities ! 😜🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mine bends quite a bit but I experimented with folding it up a little more loosely so the fin box doesn’t bend (after watching someone else’s video).

@@4lowphoto It was only ever left inflated when traveling on bay or lake vacations for several days at a time.

@@ekfinn unfortunatly that's the only way I've seen them damage, is buddy left his fully inflated for 3 days outside and it happened. They suggest even just taking out a few pounds so it's not hard. I fully deflate now every trip

BG no longer included a hand pump. I use a converter to my old Jeep and my new one has an outlet. But that being said I have 3 hand pumps in the shed, so I am sure you can find one cheap. It's a work out

@@TheTCOLL you anything with a "Schrader Valve " end. That is bodyglove, as well as the majority of isup style. There are adapters in some cases too. So you don't need a bodyglove pump.
