I'm looking for a good, non- comedogenic foundation that is oil free. I'm a super oily lady, and by the end of my sometimes 14-hour workday, I look like a highlighter 😂 I just watched a video that said after my morning skincare apply my primer then my laura mercier translucent powder before my foundation. I just ordered a setting spray because they said to spray that before your primer. That's so many layers! Anyway, I currently use clinique even better clinical serum foundation, and I do really like it. I'm cool toned and use self tanner, so I need to have a good color match done also. Any suggestions?❤

I’m not as oily now, but when I had oilier skin the Estée Lauder double wear worked well. I also recommend to have max 3 prep steps before foundation, any more and your foundation starts breaking down faster and not sitting well. For me, that equates to a moisturizing toner, vit c serum, and then a sunscreen. Then apply a thin layer of foundation with a brush and set with a light dusting of the LM translucent powder. I actually prefer not using a setting spray. I’ve tried it and while it looks lovely, I’ve found that most ones marketed as setting are more like finishing sprays, which doesn’t extend the longevity of the wear for me. For days I need to have performance and am willing to sacrifice my skin quality, you can spray hairspray / setting spray on a makeup sponge and apply to your skin as a prep step before. You’ll have a mask-like feeling but the makeup will be staying on!

Take it out, trim off wherever you see rot while sanitizing your scissors with each cut. Place on slightly moist paper towel in a ziploc bag and place in the sun. Good luck! Otherwise if you’re in the US, VSOH prices have come down a lot. See if there’s any local / online plant exchange groups that sell at a discount or are interested in trading, otherwise it’ll be a long wait before that caudex has enough energy to generate roots / new leaves.

After living with acne scars for 20 years- I know there is no "cure all" for acne scars. You can improve the look but not get rid of it 100%. I stressed a lot about my scars but after 10+ years I began to realize that I'm the only one in this planet that stress about my acne scars. Even my mother doesn't stress about my acne scars LOL. At least there are more options for acne scars than 15 years ago (only treatment was CO2 laser which was no no for my Asian skin type).

Microneedling RF or just microneedling is safe for Asian skin and the people of color because it uses heat to stimulate collagen vs traditional CO2 laser resurfacing actually burn the top layer of your skin to stimulate collagen and elastin. I've done both laser and microneedle rf and I can honestly tell you there is no difference between the two treatments both produce the same results so don't let anyone from the doctor office or some medspa trick to believe one is better than the other because it's just a tactic they use for marketing you to get your $. However, the only thing I notice with laser resurfacing result are instant immediately, but the problem is it cause discoloration and it takes months to heal. On the otherhand after you done microneedling rf your face will look like nothing happen, but the result doesn't kick in for at least a week later and it will continue to stimulate collagen for at least the next several months, so you have to be patient going in this route.

As a Asian, I have had 10+ CO2 lasers before. The post treatment hyperpigmentation is not something you should be worried about as it will all fade away in two to three weeks later.

I feel that I had a scam back in a few years ago. I did MN at a MD’s office, it was an esthetician who did mine. She did not prep me with anything, basically went straight into the procedure, also, I never got the chance to speak with the MD for the consult 😅. it was a very painful experience for me, to the point I had to ask her to stop, and ask if she could use some numbing cream. then she said, no because that will compromise the result. since I really wanted the best result possible out of it, I just took her word for it.

I haven’t actually gone back to do another session! However, my scarring is less severe now, mainly textural issues. I didn’t see much facial fat loss, but I have naturally slightly chubby cheeks and I’ve also been on a small weight loss journey. Any differences in facial fat would likely be ascribed to the weight loss, rather than from the RF. My aesthetician only used 2mm, which is on the shallower end of needle depths. If your face naturally carries more facial fat, it might not be as significant of a problem. I only did the one session, you don’t need to do the 3-10 recommended by professionals if you have the patience and time to see long term effects from just one session. There’s no harm in waiting.

Hey Cindy - thanks for watching! For daily makeup, I use the moonshot glassyfit cushion in #301 and the saem tip concealer in #1.5 for any active pimples/redness. I use a small brush and the Laura mercier translucent setting powder for my nose & forehead. It also helps if I use a mattifying product before applying base, right now I’m trying the la-roche posay dry touch sunscreen and it’s been helpful in reducing my oiliness throughout the day, so the glassyfit doesn’t break down as much as it usually does. And blotting paper if I’m feeling really oily!

Actually, I just fact-checked myself and this article is an interesting read that says micellar water was invented in the early 1900s in France around the time after WW1. Bioderma was the company that claimed to be the first in 1995, and helped to popularize micellar water as a product when consumers began looking for milder cleansing solutions. www.cosmeticsandtoiletries.com/magazine/article/22080850/cosmetics-toiletries-magazine-resurgent-skin-care-micellar-water-history-claims-functions-ingredients-and-market-relevance

Ok, so for the intelligence thing. I want to throw the whole "who's smarter" thing into the trash. The point behind diversity is it helps humans have a broader range of perspectives which helps us as a population overcome more diverse obstacles which hypothetically helps our survival. You have a neurodivergent brain that does well in school environments. Doesn't make you more or less smart, just better at schooling and testing. Doesn't make you stupid either. Also, I'm pretty much there with you. I wasn't so bad about not doing homework, but I got through college by going to class challenging myself to pay attention by trying to take notes as fast as the teacher spoke. So I aced the tests. Assignments could be hit or miss and my pass fail class in college was abysmally bad because I couldn't take it seriously enough to do the work. I got used to waiting for the deadline to get close enough to make me panic and that's how I got through school. And i was good enough at critical thinking, creative analysis that I got good grades. Eta: I'm also 40 so homework for me in school was probably different.

The level of similarity between your experiences and mine is kind of crazy, actually. I have a lot of interests and things I want to do, but it's so hard to get into gear, and it's scary to think I'll always be stuck. I always thought it could've been a CPTSD thing; I'm not sure. I have sooo many friends with CPTSD and two got diagnosed with ADHD.
@j0annepan
@j0annepan Жыл бұрын
😭 I know what you mean about feeling stuck. It feels like there’s so much I could do and so much I want to do. For me, a thought that helps to keep me grounded is that having ambition and wants is something some people struggle to have. We all have individual struggles and for people with ADHD, it’s to find focus. It also helps to equate actions to progress. People with ADHD tend to have lofty goals that could cause us to make irrational decisions. If I have something I want to pursue, I ask myself a lot of questions to ground myself in reality - is this something I can do now on top of everything that’s on my plate? What actions are needed to reach this goal? What’s the timeline? What are actions I can take on a daily basis to progress toward this goal? Hopefully this helps? 🥺 And in terms of the overlap between ADHD and CPTSD - there are solutions to the symptoms that overlap. Rather than identifying whether it’s CPTSD OR ADHD, you could try addressing the problem head on and analyze what works/what doesn’t later. That might help to identify the underlying problem in hindsight. Not everyone with ADHD opts for the medicated route! And the medicine won’t fix the underlying problems anyway.

Great video Joanne. Those eco pots are a very interesting concept for indoor plants, I'll have to look into those. I've used bio pots before but only out in the vegetable garden and breakdown quickly out in the beds. I use mostly all organic compost based plant food as fertilizer like worm castings and compost tea as a recharge with natural beneficial microbes and fungi for my indoor topicals. So, I'm wondering if they would break down faster. I'll have to see if there's any review vids on them. Thanks. 👍
