For extra context. Northerners hate southerners. The Scottish hate the English. Liverpool hates Manchester. Etc etc. so in most cases what would be thought of as a rasict word or attack can be fighting talk or just plain violence. There is WAY more violent attacks on white people on white people. Black people on black people and Asians on Asians. Not excusesing any racist piece of shit. I have no time for racial/religious or sexual hatred.

Fair play , at least some lads are putting their foot down on the rape and grooming of their teenagers .. the full extent to which no immigrant community seems to be accepting and how the police protected the predators and covered for them ... I don't believe for one minute that the abuse of British teenage girls was not widespread knowledge in Asian communities. The extent of the abuse was just too big .. but hey they were dirty white girls so it was fair game I suppose ..

This is a conversation I feel qualified to offer my perspective on. My mum is from the North-East (North Shields), and that side of my family is all very fair-skinned due to being gingers. My biological father is a Sa'idi Egyptian, someone from upper Egypt (southern Egypt), and I was born in London but moved up to Newcastle twenty years ago. Let me just say this with complete honesty: I have experienced SIGNIFICANTLY more racism in London and Essex than I ever have up here. The Geordie people are welcoming, friendly, and incredibly hospitable, even to someone like me who does not necessarily look the same as those around me. I consider myself blessed to be an 'adopted Geordie' (a fact that they love to remind me of, lol) and fortunate to count them as family, both figuratively and in a literal sense. I can vividly remember being 12 years old, growing up in Essex, where I was pinned down and had swa*sti**s drawn all over my face in permanent marker by a group of older lads and told to go back to "Pa*i land" (I quickly realise it would have been pointless to explain Egypt is in Africa, not Asia, as they didn't sound particularly educated or likely to listen). I can recount several incidents in my childhood of being jumped and bullied relentlessly over the colour of my skin (unfortunately, just like millions of other people). When my son started middle school, I sat him down and explained that he might experience racism, as children can be mean, especially at that age. Now, he is about to start high school and has told me that he has never experienced racism (in any capacity) so far during his education or when out in the community, completely on the opposite end of the spectrum from my own experiences. I recognise that my own experiences do not make me an authority on the subject, and I am not naive, I recognise that racism will exist up here in a select few ignorant individuals, just as it does across the country and the world, but to assume racism and racial prejudices are more prevalent up here feels redundant, reductive, and a little disingenuous. I am not trying to disregard, diminish, or minimalize what the people you mentioned have experienced. I think every facet of civilised society can agree that racism, in any capacity, is utterly deplorable, archaic, and repugnant. It is truly a cancer of the human psyche, and I wish them all the best of luck, especially in regard to their psychological wellbeing, because the embarrassment and shame you feel after an attack often feel soul shattering. Interestingly, I know that this subject isn't as openly discussed or even recognised by some people, but I have witnessed my fellow people of colour holding some pretty abhorrent racial prejudices, particularly around the Afrocentric movement in America (Facebook groups in particular), but that is perhaps another subject for another day. I understand that we still have a long way to go to completely eradicate racism, but I remain optimistic for the future and feel as if we are on the right track. How much melanin pigmentation your melanocyte cells produce is irrelevant and entirely inconsequential when compared to the love and compassion you hold in your heart. We have so much more that unites us and we should always focus on that.

The racism and crime problem that exists amongst white brits, hooligans and yobs, you would get parents being vile and encouraging their kids to throw things at immigrants and vandalise their properties.Some of the nastiest low down classless people i've seen.This is where the Chav slur came from, alot of white underclass find it hard to be poor and have any sense of decorum let alone around someone with a different skin tone.And it wasn't 50 years ago you get them now, up and down the UK.But the anti immigrant crowd like to ignore them and focus soleley on crime committed by a deranged immigrant or two. You have a problem amongst your own, white, english people but lets pretend you're all well mannered, hard working and civilised people. Alot of immigrants find out alot of the British stereotypes around educated and classy people are just the good PR of the media.

I don't really care honestly. Most people don't want to be surrounded by culturally incompatible immigrants... unless you live in a walled compound and own a company that hires at min wage. Then, I guess, it's pretty sweet. If people get more radical about it their communities might actually benefit. But I am one of the wealthy benefitting from all of these suppressed wages, so I don't really give a shit regardless. This is just people trying to get what they want, as per time immemorial. Get over it. It's part and parcel of migrating to a big city.

Race is being politicised in a heinous manner, with people in government openly discriminating against people from ethnic backgrounds when the reality is that poverty, lack of real opportunities and access to necessities are things that affect everyone and it's easier to provoke hatred against minorities than affect change that will help everyone.

@@TheTacticalHaggis Look to nature, without diversity, things die, they stagnate, they become extinct, think of cross polination, evolution etc. breeding exclusively within single groups leads to stagnation decline and eventual eradication. The UK has been built on divesity and diversity has made the UK great and benefitted from it, look at the history. Even back in the stone age people settled here from all over the world they traded goods and ideas, think of peoples that made this country what it is, the celts who originated in the far east, the picts, the Saxons, The Angles, the Vikings, the Romans whose armies were made up of North Aficans, turks, Germanic tribes etc. they didnt leave, they settled here, the Normans to name but a few. More recent history the first and second world wars would not have been won without the help from people around the globe, what would the UK look like if these wars were lost. So yeah, we need diversity, monoculture has never worked it leads to isolation, stagnation and extinction. As for Japan, thier imperialist and isolationist stance during WW2 nearly ended with them being totally eradicated, so they leant to exchange ideas and sarted trading with the rest of the world, they are not an insular society, they thrive because of thier interactions with the rest of the world.
@DubjaxfilmsАй бұрын
@@TheTacticalHaggis Diversity is the single key element to all species, monoculture leads to stagnation and extinction, plants and animals (including us) need to mix their gene pools for their survival and success as species. Look at the UK, it has been built on diversity, historically right back to the Stone Age people came here from around the world. Think of all the people who came here, throughout history, The Celts who originated in the Middle East, the Picts, The Angles, The Saxons, The Vikings, The Normans, The Romans whose armies were made up of people from across their empire including North Africa, Turkey, Germany etc. they didn't leave when the Roman Empire collapsed, they settled here. More recent history, the first and second world wars would not have won without help from people from across the globe, that would the UK look like if these wars had been lost ?. Look at the US, it is built on immigration as has succeeded because of it. As for Japan, their insular imperial isolationist stance nearly led to their total extinction at the end of WW2, they learnt to embrace the diversity of world views and markets, they have thrived as a country, they recognised that isolationism leads to failure and eradication, yet they still maintain, and are proud of their heritage despite it's historical failings. Genetically speaking, Japan has always been diverse, the origins of their gene pool spans all of Asia, Mongolia and further afield. Wether it be biologically, genetically, or historically monoculture and isolationism always fails. I don't understand racism, it does not make sense, why would anyone hate or dislike someone they have never met before, it's bonkers.

It's not necessarily always racism though. I myself have both been an immigrant in the United States and was born in the UK. IMHO, it's the average of 25-30, 000 people a year coming in undocumented, and if they get turned down for asylum, are just released into the public. What are they going to do, other than commit crime or deletion? My father had to have a special job that was advertised to Americans first, we had to have an immigration lawyer, the whole works. The problem is the idea being thrown around that the streets here are paved with gold, when that just isn't the case. There is no end in sight and when we can't look after our own most vulnerable in society, how are we supposed to support all these others coming in??
