Couple of things. Just my opinion but 1. I feel like you missed a trick. I'm not leaving more into Michael Knowles's thespian and acting side. As I do believe he Like Brett Cooper used to be an actor at some point. And if he wasn't I could easily see that as having been an alternate career for him. 2. Good choice on the dog for cooper. Since she also recently seems to have gotten a Saint Bernard. 3. Contrary to how it appears Ben Shapiro is actually not short. He's 5ft 10 if I'm not mistaken. His proportions just kind of make him look small.

Okay, this is a bit of a long rant about my personal headcanons about these materials: All fur, feathers or claws or anything alike: they grow back like nails and are mostly made of keratin Spoink, Shellder and Clamperl Pearls: in the Hoenn region, they have a special symbiotic relationship with Clamperl but when it can't find Clamperl they generate pearls using psionic energy Shellder and Clamperl don't use their faces they just gather calcium carbonate from the floor and make them on the spot. (Also the early dex entries are very f**ked up) All gases and lava: They are reduced to a tangible state and just maybe the lava in question is their bodily fluids Bonsly and Lapras tears: Bonsly is very afraid of water and tries to keep only what it needs to function, therefore losing water in the form of tears since Bonsly doesn't pee. Lapras is, at least in my headcanon, ever so slightly anatomically similar to a crocodile, which secrete tears to regulate salinity Delibird Parcels: Delibirds just wrap berries for you in their feathers :3 All dust, powder and syrup: Again, bodily fluids or body dust like scalp. Surskit probably secretes the syrup from the horn on its head as a defense mechanism, like how bombardier beetles spray acid on people Sweat: Sweat is sweat Kricketot Shells: Kricketot moulds its exoskeleton away like irl crickets do and has short arms so it cant take the exoskeleton off Klefki Keys: When Klefki uses moves it generates iron out of thin air, why not keys? Cetoddle Grease: Whales are, in fact, very greasy animals as they are endothermic and need to constantly generate heat, which is why they have much more oils. Also, when whales swim they secrete oils rapidly to lessen drag. Or it could just be ambergris, which is just glorified whale intestine oil Toedscool Flaps: Toedscool is based on a woodear mushroom which are consumed for their flaps. They naturally drop them and grow back as told in the Pokedex (If you even believe the shit they write in that absolute scam) and in the Jade Palace Garden restaurant in Paldea they serve a dish called Pickled Toedscool and cucumber, which is based on a traditional Chinese 下酒菜 which is a side dish you accompany with alcohol Morpeko Snacks: Oh come on, it just wanted to offer you some berries or something after you beat the shit out of it Conclusion: Do your research, kids

3:35 Ralts, Happini and Hatenna are fairies, so they probably drop pixie dust when they are hit. According to the Pokedex, Surskit secrets a sweet liquid from its antenna to attract prey and distract predators.

You are concerned with taking pearls from Cloyster but not claws from Slowpoke? How do you think claws are harvested?
@RooftopRose0794 ай бұрын
The Cetoddle one actually feels worse when you consider this is the toddler (child/baby/infant) form.
@QDude244 ай бұрын
You need to keep in mind that you get the same materials from evolved forms, so they probably didn't go with slowpokes tail since that would be weird with slowbro
@izelthewashbear4 ай бұрын
That could be one of the reasons, I also thought that it'd be weird if it dropped more than one tail (since they can drop multiple items)
@THGMR-ox7sd4 ай бұрын
Yeah, that would be very weird. I’m honestly fine with the claw but if the evolutions and dropping multiple items didn’t get considered then I would prefer the tail.
@kidayuki98844 ай бұрын
The real reason they didn't do the slow poketail is because then we'd be team rocket

The pokemon materials were definitely strange and had some "are we the baddies?" Feeling to it. The worst offenders are probably the fangs IMO because they're generally deeply rooted, so your pokemon must be hitting them HARD to get them to drop. Another is scyther claws, hopefully its the ones on their feet. Otherwise, we're just amputating scythers' hands. Lastly is Veluza dropping fillets, which is fine, *if* its above lvl 30 when it learns filley away. Otherwise, the paldea trainer is just slicing bits of flesh off of an unconscious fish and being like "its fine, they heal quickly"
@queenthefangirl2684 ай бұрын
i imagine they're like shark's teeth and are easily replaceable for the fangs

On the bright side, Lapras is no longer endangered according to more recent Dex entries…. still made it cry, though… Let’s just say they’re tears of joy or laughter… yeah…

Honestly, I hated the first episode and have no desire to continue. I wanted a tv show where each episode is 1-2 chapters, around 40-45minutes. I really wanted a complete, fleshed out, book to tv adaptation. I really wanted what I had read and loved to be shown on screen, nearly scene by scene as much as humanly possible. The episode felt rushed, muddied, and the characters didn't feel like the characters I grew up reading about. Gabe was barely the horrible human we've all known him to be. Sure, he was a bit of an ass, but nowhere do we get the feeling he is abusive and cruel to Percy or Sally. Percy was fine, I wanted them to continue his voiceover so we could get all the important inner thoughts but they stopped halfway, which felt lazy. Grover wasn't even true to his character. Sally was ok, nothing special. I was very hesitant to even watch because they did race swap, which I despise. I hate how one-sided it is, that originally white characters can be made black, but not the other way because "racist". It's lazy writing and even worse, pandering to black people in hopes they can string them along for more money. I felt like they took out pivotal moments, Grover and Chiron's conversation Percy hears a part of, Percy thinking he is a burden and leaving Grover, not Grover getting Percy expelled essentially. That, in my eyes, ruins Grover's character and how loyal and kind and true he is to those he loves. What was an amazing series teaching kids to be brave in the face of evil and to fight for what they love has turned into a mediocre, rushed show Disney spewed out in hopes to make money off of long-time fans.

So I am more of an independent, with a left leaning twinge due to my personal moral values. Although I might not agree with you on that end. I personally think Consequences and motivation are probably some of the most impactful elements of a story. So when they leave out Percy’s motivation being preservation of western civilization and him believing in the ideology of his gods it makes complete since the show would be lack luster. Maybe if it was on Amazon it would have been better. Amazon seems to be a lot more laissez-faire, and when it comes to works of art. Laissez-faire is always better. Also awesome video, great thinking piece.

DUDE !! Rick Riordan is the fck'ng creator/writer for the tv series....if you got a problem with what's in it (or not in it)...take it up with him...but there's no liberal conspiracy there...sheesh
@calebcorrea75565 ай бұрын
The series seems like it's going to go much more into Luke's motivations. Other very important aspects of the book such as the fates were pushed back to a later episode don't be surprised if elements of the western civilization theme are explored either later in this season or even further down in the series.
