This is amazing. One of my goals in the future is to build a cafe racer and would love to be able to do it with my sons as well. I just started motorcycling a couple years ago so I have a long way to go. But I do all the maintenance myself so I can learn bit by bit. You’ve definitely inspired me to keep going to one day realize my goal!

Did you have an issue with leaking fuel when you cut the tabs off of the fuel tank? I want to cut the tabs on my bike but I am concerned about leaks. Awesome bike, great job!!

If you're still replying to this post, can you give details on filling the lid with spray foam? Like, how many cans? And the process? Thank you man, I'm starting this build 😁

Looks good I love the leather stitching on the seat lol but you definitely did a great job on the engine and exhaust they compliment the old school look well. I personally will be making a few tech changes like capacitors instead of a heavy battery and Im doing a 750, Im hoping to at least hit 150 mph with it if not Ill add a turbo set up, who knows I may add the turbo anyway and try to get 200 mph out or it definitely going with some fat tires like some thick Harley Davidson 18s or something along those lines. I want something built strong enough to handle a bump at 150 mph if I don't see it in time to slow down, I already know without stripping it down 130 mph and 0 to 60 in 4 to 6 seconds isn't an issue. The thing I like most about these builds is its not much of a suspension change and tire change to build a 650 or 750 off road machine. I also have back issues already, so I won't care as much on the appearance I can't put the handle bars that low.

I've done mainly classic rebuilds, but I prefer 70s rebuilds that said, I am watching for ideas on my own cafe racer rebuild, but also I would like to know where to order parts from like turn signal kits and rebuild kits for carbs and engines?

You took off the front mudguard, including the brace that’s on there. I’ve read a lot about structural integrity being reduced when you do that. Did you notice any issues when you were driving?

The bench looks good, but it's not a lift, and rolling a heavy bike over that bench is an accident waiting to happen.

Zero incidence report to date. Still consider a lift, but not a motorized. Tomato tomato.

Hello, a small note: The contact surfaces between the brake disc and rim must not be painted. Fastening of the screws is not guaranteed because the color is soft. Due to the color, it is not really possible for the brake discs to rest flat and centrally and the heat from the brake disc is no longer passed on to the rim. Please always leave the surfaces unpainted that were originally unpainted. Warm greetings from Munich, Bavaria - Germany, Chris

Thanks a Ton for sharing this! Made re-making the seat pan for my old Dunstall Cafe kit a LOT easier. I originally had cut down an S3 Kawi seat pan, but Father Time had caused that to become a fragile, broken mess! Some Duct tape allowed me to piece it back together well enough to use it as a pattern for the new one!

Clip on handle bars that sit up higher and a rearset will definitely make a bike like this easier for you to ride. I have a CB500 cafe racer as well, which would definitely be too small for you. The K100 is a lot bigger of a bike with a lot more says to stretch out for a tall person.
