Hi Paula, thank you for your information. I would like to visit the Hmong people in other parts of Asia. In terms of the people from those villages in China, they still call themselves Miao people during our conversations behind the scenes. I travel the world to find out more about culture, so great tip you been given me. 😉

We are not pronounce Maos any more we call Hmong peoples same as Hmong people who live in America, thailands, Laos all the same you may need to research more abou😢( Hmong) is all over the place orlds on the name call Mao only Chinese call Mao but we are Hmm no please stop calling us Maos we don’t want to Carrie that name any more thank you for sharing.

No. Just stop. In China, Hmong are called "Miao". All Miao branches in China accept the ethnic identity of Miao. Only Hmong is used outside of China. You are spreading false information. I am from the sub group that called themselves as Hmong but I am also ethnic Miao, as that's who we are in China.

Wow it’s quite similar with my ethnic, Dusun here in Sabah, Malaysia. Especially the rice wine drinking to guests, the music instruments also looks the same just a bit smaller, ours is called Sompoton. Even the dance is really similar.. 😮
