Personally 990v5’s all the way for me; most comfortable and supportive and hope to see more collabs/colorways. Closely followed by the 2002r and the 990v4.. Love the channel mate, keep up the great work!

I wore the 990v6 for 2 days during the 4-day walking event in Nijmegen. 2 times 50km. Held up fine! Just ordered the 991v2 as my second pair of NB. Can't wait to try them on.

It’s pretty insane that a sneakerhead’s favorite shoe of all time is the 990. 10 years ago nobody (not even NB fans) cared about them, to the point where you might be made fun of in school.

For some context, the 576, 577, 580, 997, 998, 999, 1300 and 1500 were considered cool back in the day. The Kennedy 999 is still probably the goat NB.

I remember when I first started wearing a 990 in my junior year of high school everyone dogged on me but I never let that stop me from wearing. They are just so comfortable and stylish. New balance started making colors and Teddy Santis really help put the 990 back on the map

Great take. I do struggle with grey suede. It gets darker in the back and next to first lace hole and I am not sure it’s due to decolorisarion or just dirty and need to scrub more. Still wonder;) cheers

Every pair I’ve had it always darkens over time. It’s most likely just from dirt and extended wear. I’ll have to try and find a way to revive that beautiful light grey suede

Cleaning suede is always tough. If they caught a lot of sun they just get cooked, but I kinda like that faded look :)

That’s what the mink oil is for. It will bring back the color and soften the hardened suede. I just didn’t have any at the moment

Nice vid, good tips. But instead of using a brush to un-harden the dry suede, you can use a small rounded nail filer. I use a round staple remover i took from an old job and it works so good to bring back the hairiness of the suede.

Thanks for this comparison. I’ve worn the 990 v5 since it came out and had to buy the v6 when my NB store didn’t have the v5 in stock. The v6 was a nice shoe but after a few days I couldn’t wear them so I gave them away. Now I can’t find the v5 online in my size. This video has been very helpful and I will be trying the v4.

I’m glad the video helped! Sometimes it’s very hard to make the switch from the v5 to the v6- the stability on the v5 is just unmatched. If you love the v5 you’ll love the v4

Stock X has been known for selling lots of fake pairs of sneakers recently, even though they say they guarantee authenticity 😢

They have had issues in the past with that. It was more so for Jordan’s and other simple Nike shoes that are easy to replicate. You have absolutely no worries ordering from stockx and receiving a fake. No other company can replicate the quality of a new balance

I found them on amazon. If you type in shoe display shelves they should pop up. They aren't that sturdy, they tend to lean the more you stack them but they do a great job of keeping the dust out.

For the 991v1 I would probably got true to size because they have a slanted midsole just like the 991v2 so it would be more comfortable to get tts that way my toes don't get squished in the front of the toe box

Some other places you could have added to the list, or maybe you want to do another video on it. Nordstrom Rack currently has a pair of gray 996s for about 70 bucks, I think, maybe less. Also, you mentioned those 1906 SSense collab, and you said it looks like a kiwi.. Look into the 992 low hanging fruit. It's an actual kiwi in storytelling. And they are criminally underpriced and underrated Concepts collab. By far, my favorite 992. It's the only new balance in the 99x category that's completely sued with no mesh. All hairy Suede.

Such a great video! Kith is always my go to source for New Balances I got a chance to go to there stores in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills and can tell you they’re worth a visit. There newest sneaker for the opening of the Malibu store is 🔥. Thanks for making this list some other good places are DTLR, Packer, Shiekh, Coollicks and Shoe Palace.
