yea mine did that's why I locked it. the manual says it needs 2 shims inside but there was only 1 in mine so it stripped the inside gears 👍🐿

I'm looking for a lil help on upgrading a toy grade rc. I am happy with everything but the steering servo and would like to upgrade that only. But having troubles figuring the wiring of it. How did you get your servo wired in to the circuit board?

hi Brian, I was lucky I had a board here that was proportional along with the matching servo from an old rc car that was crashed so I changed the lot in this one along with the controller. easiest option is to buy a hobbywing 1060 esc and a 3 wire servo but then you will need a controller and receiver. all that will cost around £60 that's the only problem unless you can find something on marketplace or the like . Hope this helps 👍

@009ADVENTURES I'm not trying to go that route, as this rc has moving suspension like air ride. Otherwise I would have to do servos on all the shocks.

What an awesome crawling spot! What wheels/tyres are you running on the scx24? Im currently using stock tyres on ali beadlock wheels, but the stock tyres are pretty shit.... those you have on look nice and soft but grippy too..... keep safe pal, cheers.

oh yes it's amazing, can't wait to get back there andy :) believe it or not bud they are cheap ftx swampers , they are a tenna for wheels n tyres :) they are slightly smaller which helps and slightly wider offset , thought I'd try them and find them great . cheers bud 👍 🐿

My brand is Katsumi but its identical. You can leave it in your vehicle permanently hooked up as per instructions i just downloaded. I have opened the unit and its vry basic inside. I have tried with uhf but i will get my son to do a range test tommorow.

Been having great fun with the Ravine. Out the box the original tyres hit the lower suspension arms when steering at full lock. Cured this by adding a set of 15mm hex extensions (cost Zero as I 'borrowed' them from another 1/10 RC car that is waiting for other parts) After a couple of runs I changed the tyres for FTX Canyon but reduced the outer diameter of the white foams in the canyon tyres by about 10mm. This allows the tyre tread to spread but still provides sidewall support I made my own stainless steel lower suspension links to improve clearance and raised the belly pan up by removing 15mm from the sides of the central chassis unit. Rather than extending the shock tower points up I used 4 elastic hair bands as 'shock bands' which reduced the CG improving stability when traversing across slopes and off camber surfaces. With these simple, free modifications it is a very capable crawler that cost under £100 all in.. NOTE: When You add weight to the vehicle check your plastic drive cups for excessive wear where the drive pins contact them, even when well greased they will wear very quickly if You add too much weight. With 160g of added weight at the front hubs the front drive cups were badly worn after only a few hours of use. I reduced the weight to 60g and the wear rate was significantly reduced. Have Fun but make sure Your gear train is well greased and keep an eye on those drive cups!

oh yes with a bit of tweaking these are unbelievable trucks for the price. I've not added hardly any weight for that reason, not running tyre foams either as when they are wet they weigh quite a bit 😀🐿👍

That spot was perfect for it. Some of things it managed to climb was surprising for how small it is. Could spend all day there making tracks for it. Plenty to be had. Forgot to tell us about the challenge did you lol? I would of had a crack at it.

these are both great, what the ravine lacks in weight and power it makes up for with the rear steer and tbh there isn't much in the two. I will say the mauler is more upgradable and better quality

Used to use a meter matcher in the am days for fun, you could match down curtain pole if you want to though its not recommended i just pushed things to the limit sometimes to see if it would break sometimes they did doh' nice vid dude

nice , I'm sure you will love it :) yes I'm still using the ravine to this day and it's one of my favourite trucks as it's just so good. only very recently put some high clearance metal links and metal steering links on although there was nothing wrong with the stock ones. tyres have been changed but only for cheap ones off another of truck. tyres are the main thing with these. it's lowerd a bit and that's it. only ever broken 1 servo and nothing else , great truck . cheers for watching, I do have more recent videos with the mods on 👍
