Flexible weapons, especially with a length of chain, hard difficult to use unless you have developed expert skill. Fantastic demonstration. It takes dedication to have that level of skill, but you can see the deadly results. Wonderful match

Kusarigama was carried as a weapon by farmers and merchants who were lower in status than samurai. Only samurai were allowed to carry swords; farmers and merchants were prohibited from carrying swords.

I’m sure these weapons had their time and place. I have no realistic idea how deadly they really are in combat versus how hard are they to learn? But I do know one thing. They’re cool as shit
