Black body, black wheels, black steering wheel, black seats, black interior 🥱 I often find people that don’t genuinely like cars, tend to default to just black everything. Takes a good eye for design to recognise great colours and combinations.

Beautiful yeah they depreciate rather quickly as these things can be costly to repair as they age and that’s just expensive cars for you in general got it enjoy it 😊

I have a 2007 a8 swb 4.2tdi with 4 massaging seats all electricity adjustable Rear tvs Heated cooled seats absolutely insane car I've remapped it to 400hp and 1000nm of torque

I watched a few vids about the reliability of the 4.2tdi A8,and they kept saying how horrendously unreliable it is,and to stay away from it. Things like clogged up pipes,water leaking inside,a bunch of different electronics failing,blah blah blah... But on the other hand,before those videos,Ive talked to people who know these cars pretty well and theyve all said its a bit more expensive when something goes wrong,but in general,that its quite alright. Ive also talked to a couple of local d3 3.0tdi owners I know,and they all praise it. Im genuinely conflicted. I really like this car,but Idk if I should go for something else like the d4 with the same engine (but I really dont wanna spend THAT much on my second car) or something else entirely. I find this Audi to have a relatively modern looking and the best looking interior in its class for this age for my taste. (And I found several for,like,4-7k that have been pretty well maintained,so thats really edging me to pull the trigger on one of these) Merc interior from those years looks like ass imho,and the BMW ones arent that good looking,either. And I mean,its a V8...Diesel,but still. Anyway,sorry for the long ass comment,but Id really appreciate some advice and insight/opinion from you as an ex owner of a well used d3.

The 3.0 is shite, the 4.2 tdi is bulletproof, simple as that, a D4 4.2tdi would be what I'd get if I got another

Both removed in the end while engine was out, no longer own it anyway, was such a underwhelming car and had many undiscovered faults hidden by the previous owner

That’s a very awesome A8 love the sexy style very elegant and reliable even with very high millage. I own a 2009 Q7 and the style is much better than the 2016 and newer ones.

My Dad used to own a maroon Volvo 850 T5 (turbo) but he unfortunately had to give it up about 6 years ago. Now he owns a Volvo 850 T5 and 144 GL. I do like classic cars, they give you that sense of "classy" that new cars don't.

Couldn't imagine an D3 with anything but the 4.2 tdi if I'm honest, it's not a "cheap" car to run so road tax shouldn't be a issue if you are buying one

@@JamesCherrill Fair enough but then you'd pay the same tax for the S8 or the W12. Do you get more kick from the 4.2 tdi? More torque than either of those? The beauty of the D3 is there is so much choice! Finally what do you think of the 3.0 tdi, is that a decent compromise.

@@simonstock4448 From my experience the 4.2tdi kicks harder than both after a map, really livens it up (I have a 5.2 S6 for comparison) the 3.0 is a good engine, just not best suited to the A8 platform imo
