yes, it is pretty quick, since it is a continuous buffet with no breaks from morning till night.

I understand, but normally by the time the buffet tail end, the food is almost due and best to be eaten as soon as possible. So need to be fast. but for the restaurant, to send the leftover to charity will have to pack, and deliver which is additional cost for them, many choose to just throw. So, can consider this as a food rescue but with costing on the individual.

There are no difference in the menu for Lunch or Dinner, same with weekends and weekdays. The main difference is just the duration and payment discount. Lunch is shorter from 11:30am to 2:30pm (3hrs) while dinner is 6pm to 10:30pm (4hrs plus). For lunch if you make payment by PayNow, you get a discount of 5% while for dinner you don't have any discount. They don't have credit card for payment, only cash, paynow, grabpay and favepay.

Swensen's Unlimited is at the public area of the airport Terminal 2 (at the arrival hall after passport processing, collection of luggage and customs). Anyone can come in and eat anytime without the need to be a traveler. In Singapore's Changi Airport, there are 2 main areas, a public area where anyone can come to socialize, shop, dine and to send or pickup friends and family members flying off or back, which includes the Jewels. The airport in Singapore is no longer just for travelers but it has became another destination to spend time to do your shopping, dining, social gathering, having fun, watching planes landing, etc. The other area is the traveler's area where one have to show their passport and boarding pass/ticket, where one can have their last minute duty free shopping, dining and also walking to the gate of the planes. It is best to still make a reservation (via their webpage) according to your normal flight arrival timing, and in case there is a flight delay, you can still come late as they don't cancel reservation and still try to accommodate you to the next available table.

👍, but there are some others restaurant that do offer about 30++ in an aircon settings. an example will be carlton city hotel Plate. currently for weekday lunch is at S$58++ 1 for 1. so it is at S$29++ and its from 12pm to 2:30pm (150mins) it is more relaxing and can socialize. The main moat with swensen's will be their good and wide selections of ice-cream and gelato. 😊

Yes, I went on a weekday lunch. They have roast beef for lunch, Dinner, weekdays or weekends. There are basically not much difference in food, they may change certain items like replacing the assam fish with rendang beef, hotdogs with fried prawns, etc. but overall it is the same. From what I observe and had asked them before, the price difference is just to match the demand timing like weekday vs weekends(more people can come for weekends), Lunch vs Dinner (more people can come for dinner).

Depends on availability of tables. As most people tends to stay longer than 90 mins. (the staff will go around to check, but may missed some), also some people are late(reservation isn't cancelled when one is late, i guess they also want to keep the restaurant at full status all the time to max profit) So all this stacks up and a queue will starts to form even with reservation. In order not to queue, book at 11am or 11:30am then you will have no queue as all the tables are empty.

Agreed with you, 90mins, too short to really have a slow enjoyable dining/buffet(being creative too), especially with friends chatting and eating together. But their business model here is not catered for that. its more like fast pace, target, focus, eat and next. Especially when there are such a long queue waiting outside. So, to make it worth, do some homework, go there, aim for all the food you loved and just eat. Talk or chat later at any other cafe in the airport.

Just don't go at peak hours. imagine if there is a queue and everyone keep on eating and don't want to go. Then those queueing no need to eat liao. The 90mins is jus to give those queuing a fair chance to eat also. I think if you go on weekday off peak hours, you can eat as long as you like provided there is no queue.

I don't usually go for buffet that restricts timing to below 90 min as psychologically feel quite stressed, though it's the business's perogative. But I would suggest to differentiate the less busy weekday by providing 2 hours or 2.5 hours dining time which will help to improve the experience.

@@benk7177 Agreed with you, but unless people don't mind them increasing the prices during weekdays, they have no incentive to increase dining time to 2 or 2.5hrs as currently even on weekdays lunch, it is always full and has queue for those with reservation. In the video you can see the queue, that is on a weekday at about 2:30pm 😅

Totally agreed, while they were dancing and singing birthdays, our used plates started to pile up. I don't blame the staff as they were task to do other things instead of clearing the plates. But management... get a live band if they want to have entertainment instead of stressing the F&B staff.

At the crossing of Chua Chu Kang Road, you can go to Junction 10 where its a shopping mall. And of course the end point at Kranji MRT there is a Giant supermarket and some stalls there. So technically, no need to. Maybe just a small one for emergency. South 1) Mosque (along the track) 2) Mount Sinai access point (about 50m - able to see caltex from the track) Central 1) Bukit Timah Railway Station (along the track) 2) Rail Mall (along the track) North 1) Junction 10 (Chua Chu Kang) (its along as you cross over Chua Chu Kang Road) 2) PCN (below KJE flyover) (along the track) 3) Kranji MRT (just across the bridge from the Kranji node) I didn't include in access point that need to walk a little further away like central Bukit Merah access point has coffee shop about 100m away, Biopolis access point has tanglin halt market and Sheng Shiong about 200m away. One North access point has metropolis which has a Mcdonld's and 7-11 there, but its about 100m away. Alexandra access point has a coffee shop and food centre(Alexandra village) just 100m away. Yes, it is a budget buffet. I was ok with the spread of the food, got vegetable and curry chicken, I am happy, but to not replenish the food, no more curry chicken, no more vegetables, then it is no longer a buffet. 😂

So are the Ice-Creams and Gelatos. Yes, 90 mins, so its not a place for chit chatting with friends and family. Just focus on eating🤣 After that then go to a coffee house for the chit chats.

Yes, its pretty value for money, bring it back and portion it for other days. Just have to finger cross that day the buffet diners didn't finished what you wanted.😅
