Get a rechargeable camping light with a magnetic attachment or a way to hook it above you. It should help with the lighting.

Cool truck bed tent! I'm curious - what truck do you have? I'm in the market for a truck but the prevalence of short beds is a deterrent. This is a cool solution. Hope you got a good view of the solar eclipse!

Ya it really blows when things go bad in the home. Sorry for your luck! Once it's all dried out you can spray paint couple coats primer white on the ceiling to seal those water spots and paint over. We use to do that with ceiling tiles that got water spots. Mud the cracks, sand, spray paint primer the mud couple coats so it (spackling/mud) doesn't show through after painting (flashing). Do you have a crawl space under your house? Hard to say whats causing the bowing of the floor. Moisture if its real wood? Put something heavy on it to train it back down. I'd consider pinning it down when it's flatter with a wood screw if possible. Hard to say without being there. You'll get through this and be back to normal life around the house soon enough. Hope Dad is able to solve the roof issue!

Thank you so much for the advice! I do have a crawl space. When my ceiling leaked, it did leak in that room so could that have caused the bowing? I'm going to place something heavy on it. Thanks again!
@ShutoStriker10 ай бұрын
@@Fifty-something-loving-life ah definitely the water and real wood flooring! I have a crawl space under my house too. If you can shoot some steam on that wood while weighed down it'll help make it malleable. If the sub floor has excessive flex there or other places might need someone to look under the house make sure foundation is solid. No problem just dealt with a little mouse problem myself lol

Run a Dehumidifier in your house to remove the moisture inside.

Did you use a mold-killing primer or otherwise kill the mold before painting? Otherwise you may be wasting your time as painting mold doesn't kill it and you may see it show up again. I'd also recommend a dehumidifier if your inside air is that humid. I wish I had an attic fan to pull in fresh air. You said you can't use it because you don't have screens in some windows, but would screens be much more expensive than deleting the fan vent? Or is it not something you can just pop in on that house? There's also adhesive screens; we use sliding door one with a split down the center and magnets to close it behind when we use the sliding door. Be careful about molds. I had a family member get very ill from mold in their house after a plumbing incident. Anyway, I'm no expert. Good luck!
@Fifty-something-loving-life10 ай бұрын
I used kilz primer. The label said it kills mold and prevents it. The dehumidifier is a great idea. Thank you for the advice.
