For those who don’t get it, Alfredo is the name of guy who owned a restaurant in Italy. Who had popularized the dish so much that all the tourists who tried it called it fettuccine “Alfredo”.

I hate it when people in a country think tourists are going to know everything about it then make a joke out of the tourist like the person is dumb. *Cough France

Jokes on them. The best fettuccine is made with Pecorino Romano, not Parmesan.

You complain about “ti spiezzo in due” (which works by the way) but you guys do exactly the same: as an Italian who watches original language movies I tell you English soundtracks are full of “Italian sounding accents” that sound ridiculous and frankly irritating. You should go easy on the judgements…

Who fucking cares? I’m paying some bullshit restaurant to feed me and like anyone besides Italians is gonna know that long ass phrase for fettuccine Alfredo
@sm4sh3d2 күн бұрын
Other than in Lazio, most restaurants in Italy will just call it a "cacio e pepe" with added butter. The name Alfredo is not popular in Italy and is strongly associated with Italian Americans. It actually became almost a meme with stereotypical american tourists requesting the dish everywhere (especially in regions where and sites where it's not local and not on the menu) thinking it would give them some "authentic Italian experience".
