Sir, is salesforce having a good future ahead in terms of job opening and job security?
@Go2Mentor

I am not a career consultant, so I am unable to comment specifically on the current job market. However, based on my personal experience, here's my observation: Salesforce continues to be a strong player in the CRM and cloud computing space, with a robust ecosystem that offers numerous career opportunities. If you are looking for an opportunity, it is important to carve out a niche for yourself as the job roles such as Salesforce Administrator has become highly competitive (lot of supply and fewer demands). However, if you are able to gain subject matter expertise in some of the advanced features / capabilities such as Salesforce AI (Einstein), Salesforce CPQ, Billing, Marketing Cloud, and Industry-specific solutions, that can set you apart. Best of luck on your Salesforce journey!

Hello @lkccreation5565 - for sure. It is a myth that coding knowledge is a must have for pursuing a career in Salesforce. There are numerous opportunities in Sales and Marketing areas within Salesforce where you can leverage your 12 years experience, learn the configuration capabilities of the platform (clicks and not code) and contribute significantly in the capacity of a Business Analyst / Functional Consultant / Solutions Architect with no knowledge of coding. Salesforce has modules like Sales Cloud and Marketing cloud that you may want to explore (www.salesforce.com/resources/roles/ ). Wish you all the best!

Hi Sir, I have over 15 years of experience in IT industry and worked as JAVA developer, Servicenow developer and currently working as Oracle CX(Rightnow crm) developer in retail company using (PHP, JS, etc). Since Salesforce is the leader, is it wise to jump in Salesforce CRM? Since my previous experience is in CRM, how much will it take me to become salesforce developer?
@Go2Mentor
@Go2Mentor 6 ай бұрын
Hello @khatrivishnu, thanks for your question. It's great that you have a solid background in the IT industry with experience in various roles, including CRM development. Augmenting your current skillset with Salesforce CRM can be a wise move, given Salesforce's prominence in the industry and the demand for Salesforce professionals. Here's how you can consider approaching this transition: 1. Assess Your Transferable Skills: Your experience as a CRM developer, coupled with your programming skills in Java, ServiceNow, and Oracle CX, will certainly be valuable in the Salesforce ecosystem. Skills like problem-solving, data management, and web development (with PHP and JS) are transferrable, so they will certainly come in handy. 2. Start learning the basics of Salesforce from Trailhead ( trailhead.salesforce.com/ ). You can be targeted in your learning - for example, if you are interested purely in development, you can filter and learn the various options Salesforce provides around programmatic development. Hand-on experience is the key - so be sure to spin up a free developer org and start practicing everything you learn. How much time you will need will depend on the amount of time you are able to dedicate. If you can spend around 10 hours every week, you will able to pick up the basics within a few months. At that point in time, you can choose to pick up a couple of certifications Remember - 15 years of experience is a lot and very valuable! Combining that experience with Salesforce knowledge can put you into a spot where your skills will be in demand. All the best!

Hi @ishantsharma7581, Certainly, it's a great plan! Combining your experience as an inside sales and support analyst with Salesforce Admin skills can open up new career opportunities. Given that you already know the concepts of CRM by using Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the transition will be much easier. Salesforce Admin roles focus on configuration and customization, not coding. With dedication and training, you can certainly become a proficient Salesforce Admin and leverage your unique skill set for success in the future. Good luck with your career change!

Full stack web developer 2.Salesforce(I don't know the specific role in that but i can only work within the salesforce) my question is which one has the best career growth and wide range of opportunities in India and also abroad.? Please reply to my comment That you sir.!!
@Go2Mentor
@Go2Mentor 11 ай бұрын
Hello! Congratulations on having two exciting opportunities in front of you. I'd be happy to share my thoughts, but please remember that I'm not a certified career consultant. Both Full Stack Web Development and Salesforce offer unique paths with promising career growth. Full Stack Web Development involves creating both the front-end and back-end of websites or applications. It's a skill set highly sought after in the tech industry, offering a wide range of opportunities both in India and abroad. Salesforce, on the other hand, is a leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. It's in demand across various industries, and your role might involve configuring and customizing Salesforce solutions to meet business needs. Both fields have strong potential for growth and opportunities, but the choice ultimately depends on your interests and strengths. If you're drawn to coding and software development, Full Stack Web Development could be a great fit. If you're more inclined toward business processes and technology integration, Salesforce might be the way to go. Remember, the good news is that there's flexibility in career paths. Over time, you might find opportunities to switch between these tracks or even find ways to combine them. So, there's no definitive right or wrong answer. Consider where your passion lies and which path aligns better with your long-term goals. Research the demand for these roles in both India and abroad, and also think about which industry excites you more. Whichever you choose, remember that your dedication and continuous learning will be key to your success. Best of luck!

Hello there! I'm happy to share my thoughts with you, though it's important to note that I'm not a career consultant. It is great to hear that you are exploring different paths like data analytics, SAP, software testing, and an MBA. Each of these options can open up unique opportunities. If you're curious about data analysis, it's a field that's in high demand. Being skilled at using data to make decisions can be valuable in many different types of jobs. On the other side, pursuing an MBA offers a chance to gain broader knowledge about business and essential management skills. What truly matters is finding a path that truly resonates with your interests and strengths. I encourage you to look into the potential for growth, the skills you'd need, and how satisfied people are in each of the fields you're considering. Ultimately, the choice you make should fit what you love and where you excel. Take a deeper dive into these areas, talk to professionals who are experienced in them to learn about their journey, and trust your instincts to choose the best path for your future. Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all answer - take the leap of faith and adjust your career journey along the way. My best wishes to you for a bright career in whatever path you choose!

As an admin, is billing knowledge only required if you want to work on the finance industry or is it required if we want to work in sales/service cloud and general admin stuff
@Go2Mentor
@Go2Mentor 11 ай бұрын
Hello! Your question touches on an important aspect of being an admin within the context of various industries. While it's not an absolute necessity for an admin to possess in-depth billing knowledge, having a solid understanding of the billing process can greatly enhance an admin's effectiveness, especially when working in sales, service cloud, and general administrative roles. Having a broad overview of the billing process allows one to engage in more meaningful conversations with teams like Billing and Finance. This can facilitate smoother collaboration and help ensure that the processes they are overseeing align with the financial aspects of the organization. A basic understanding of billing can also assist in troubleshooting issues and proposing improvements that consider both operational and financial implications. Also, It's worth noting that as one progresses in their career, developing a grasp of billing and finance can contribute to our overall professional growth. This knowledge can empower us to become a subject matter expert in the lead-to-cash process. As one gains insight into the end-to-end workflow, they'll be better equipped to identify optimization opportunities, streamline operations, and contribute more strategically to the organization's success, in turn taking their career to the next level. I hope this helps.

Hi Sujata, I am not a career consultant and I can't comment on the current job market in your location, but below are a couple of options in my personal opinion, that you can consider: 1. People from varied background have picked up and made a great career in Salesforce. It is definitely possible to use your current experience in Technical Support role to your advantage and combine it with Salesforce knowledge. For example - Salesforce.com company themselves also hire for support engineers from time to time. By picking up the Salesforce Administration skills, you could consider applying for such positions. Similarly, there are other companies who may have implemented Salesforce and may be looking for technical support staff with experience in Salesforce. 2. Salesforce has the 'Service Cloud' and 'Field Service Cloud' offerings that are directed towards customer support and field support roles. Given your prior experience, you may consider picking up learning more about these from Trailhead and look for opportunities where you can get an entry into the world of Salesforce. 3. There may also be opportunities to do volunteer projects which are a great way to get deep hands-on experience in various Salesforce roles. I hope this gives you some idea of the various paths you could consider. Of course, each person's career journey is unique so it's important to do your own research and make the best decision for your own career path. I wish you the very best!

People from varied background have picked up and made a great career in Salesforce. If the 'Sales' role interests you, Salesforce Consulting companies have dedicated Sales teams that are responsible for working with potential customers to get Salesforce projects. By picking up Salesforce offerings and utilizing your existing Sales experience, you can consider similar opportunities. 3. Salesforce does have a industry offering called 'Manufacturing Cloud'. Hello, I am not a career consultant so I am unable to comment on the current Indian market but here is what I have seen in my experience personally - There is a lot of 'Supply' of Admins and Junior developers as compared to the 'Demand' (or opportunities). Hence, anyone with minimum knowledge of Salesforce may find it difficult to get a breakthrough. However, there is still demand for highly skilled Salesforce professionals in various Salesforce Clouds (for example CPQ, Billing, Field Service, Commerce Cloud, Experienced Developers with PD1 and PD2 certifications etc). If one is able to develop deeper expertise and communicate about their expertise well in platforms such as LinkedIn, I believe there is still plenty of opportunities to make it big with Salesforce as a career. I wish you good luck.

Hi - I admire and respect your hard work and dedication towards attempting competitive exams - I know how difficult it is to prepare for such exams and the amount of effort it takes to even attempt it. When it comes to Salesforce as a career, depending on your level of interest and comfort with coding, you could consider a Salesforce Developer path that involves programmatically coding on the platform to build/enhance custom applications or you could choose to gain functional expertise by focussing more on the business processes. Whichever path you choose, your dedication will determine how quickly you are able to get up to speed and gain expertise. Combined with that, the job market conditions then will determine how much demand there is for your skillset. Here is a link from Salesforce Trailhead that could help you in your decision making - trailhead.salesforce.com/en/career-path Good luck!
