Here's another perfect example of the UNCERTAINTY of horseracing results. Buchanan's one of my favorites. 🐎🐎🐎 Say no more.

Don't get me wrong, Joe Buck's one of my all time favorite Jamaican lightweight jockeys. This particular ride though had QUESTIONABLE written all over it.
@oralv.stephenson142721 сағат бұрын
Even at work, I had to take a quick glance at this mess. Just as "Joe Buck" aboard Mystery Woman appeared to be gaining the upper hand with every stride - the animal then "seemingly" darts left and allows an easy win for Monteverdi (James Long). This particular ride raises several race riding INTEGRITY questions for "Joe Buck".

It is something that Fanna do very often, he catch the gate early and hold everybody off and thats why Bimbo and Gillespie always try to make their move after Fanna because they know who he is and once he slips away it is very hard to catch him back, he is also the best around the turn.

Bartley thinking he had enough in hand to pip Bimbo on the line and was acting cute a furlong and half out. Good ride from Bimbo who can never be underestimated. Best Jamaica has seen and Griffins and Hosang close behind. Bartley was very good too let me add that even though I never like this ride.

The powerful James Long getting everything out of the Jose Pinchin trained Monteverdi. Mr Whalebone was trained by Kenneth Mattis and was tasting defeat for the very first time after running up a 4-race win streak. Joe Buchanan lodged an objection but nothing came of it.

There is an old race, a St ledger I think where a horse jumped the rails. Think the horse was OB Kanbobi being ridden by your favorite bimbo and he was being caught by a horse ridden by Bartley Maybe the name was hold them or so. Do u remember or have that race?

@RogerEm-dr6es thanks again for being a part of the vintage racing channel. Please like, subscribe and share with all. It was the 1984 St.Leger won by My Apology, with Hubert Bartley when O.B kanobi with bimbo jump the rail. Hopefully that race soon. Thank you.

Winston Griffiths went to Feanny and told him that he's going to win the derby for him, Feanny replies was I'm not having a runner in the derby and Fanna said yes you are going to run Prince Consort Consort and I'm going to ride him...the rest is history, It is also a similar story in regards to Chie Min and Prince Consort in the Shell Anniversary Plate and the Mark Twain trophy

I left Jamaica in Jan of 1980. Racing for me was over. Up until then I was so into Horse racing. My neighbors down the lane was Patrick and Wayne Sinclair(RIP😢) who use to take me to the track on Saturdays. By the time I left J.A. I got to see some great jockeys like: Georgie Hosang, Fanna Griffiths, Bimbo, Fitzroy Gillespie, Neville Anderson, Derrick Ramgeet and Charles Hussey. Young apprentices like Hubert Bartley and O. Lee...great horses like Reca, Harlequin, Hotline, Arizona, Zell, Royal n Regal, Flashpoiint, Holy Cat and of course Legal Light. Incredible memories.

@gsaarchitecturalmechanical587223 күн бұрын
Without a shadow of a doubt Andrew Ramgeet is one of the best, he has a very good change of hold and has many tricks, he once said that he is the best jockey at Caymans park and it’s only Fanna come close to him, his claim may not be exactly as he said but nevertheless he is way up there

Timely Gift with Andrew Ramgeet in the saddle for trainer Tensang Chung and owner James B. Chen. I believe Timely Gift was the first progeny of 1983 Horse of the Year Sir Howard to face the starter and went unbeaten in his first eight starts. He was something of a straight five specialist, too. Quite interestingly, Timley Gift came back and won races out of the straight five course after doing stud duties a few years after the claiming system began in 1993. Timely Gift was an offspring of Patsy Jo and was seen here getting the better of the Jose Pinchin owned and trained filly Honesty and Abraham Francis' Reference Bid.
@wayneclarke969524 күн бұрын
Timely Gift was trainer by Noel Ennevor those days Tensang Chung was a jockey yeah in 1992 him comes back into racing him was a 5str specialist remember him and zuko and Peace keeper how them use to fight it out to the finish 3 tough 5str specialist
@pelorusjack546124 күн бұрын
@wayneclarke9695 yea, I remember him and Zuko and Peacekeeper battling. Tensang Chung was a trainer in 1989 and actually saddled the 1988 Governor's Cup winner Native Warrior (R. Dacosta) to defeat Liu Chie Pooh (Fanna) in a tight finish. Teddy came widest of all to nab Fanna at the wire in an unbelievable upset to this day.
