well that's what a demonstration is. it's pretty much making it flashy. a demonstration increases the focus on the art aspect of martial arts

reason why many japanese think korea is copying kendo is simply because of the equipments used in modern GUMDO. yes they use kendo equipments. But that is same reason as why Muay Thai use conventional kick boxing equipments. Its simply for the availability of equipments. its foolish to think only JAPAN had sword fighting martial arts. If you look at Haedong Gumdo moves, they are very different from kendo. only basic are similar for simple reason that they both use sword..

Just noticed the Jingum he's using ... the tip is quite unique. Rather then curving to the blade towards the back for your traditional blade tip, it's in reverse. Wonder how strong the tip would be in this instant, I'm guessing it was a design choice for the user since he seems a bit short. Gives him more cutting edge for the length of the sword.

its because Japanese people find these videos and dislike them because they claim Korea is ripping off Japanese culture. I don't think a lot of these Japanese reliaze how much of Western culture has been adopted into theirs, but god forbid the Koreans if they become influenced by Japanese culture

Really good cutting technique ... has real control of the sword. He's able to perform quick cuts without full motion where most people would pull back completely. Can't say how well that would do with thicker would (to simulate limbs rather then just bones) but it allows him to cut in very quick succession. Really amazing!

I'm not so sure about this demonstration. He used palm of his hand instead of using his fist and the sleeve can easily catch air and push the wind.

I am an iaido practitioner and I do tameshigiri quite frequently. And from my experience, Gumdo is a really practical sword technique and I enjoy this video a lot. It really isn't easy controlling a blade.
