I'm in the hill country. We have a lot of people compared to when I grew up. McConaughey is from Longview and went to school with some family members up there. This was a cool video.

The best description I have after living in Texas is "assbackward". There are 50 year old people who have never been out of the state of Texas. That should explain how uneducated and arrogant they are. They prove that everytime they drive on the roadways. They speed and ride your bumper because they think they are more important than everybody else. AND THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY!!! Im only here because of my family, but, hate living here. And they brag about how there are no state taxes, but, they have more hidden taxes than any other state. The state has their hands in your pockets for EVERYTHING! F**k Texas!!!

You learn a language by speaking it. You can’t learn a language by reading stories, they help, but you need to speak!

I stopped watching when I saw that Castilian language came from Castilla-León, which is actually a mix between the Castilian Kigndom and the León Kingdom. In León they actually had another language, which is Astur-leonés and is spoken nowadays in some areas. Castilla-León and Castilla is not the same

Wow, I just started learning Romanian about 2 months ago (before watching this video) and really didn't expect it to be on this list, let alone 1st place. Visited Romania about 3 years ago and absolutely loved the country, and I intend to go back next year. Let's see how much of the language I can pick up until then. The cool thing about Romanian is that it is relatively easy to learn while still sounding kinda unique and foreign because of the slavic influences. The good thing is, I have a bit of knowledge in French, Spanish and Russian, and both help me with learning the language. And because I'm German, the grammatical cases don't scare me as much. lol

Catalan is closer to French. Spanish is closest to Portuguese. Galatian is very close to Spanish. Each can easily understand the other.

I really wish you’ve would’ve included the Virginia Piedmont Accent. It’s kind of southern but very much its own dialect. It’s not too far off the Tangier and the High Tider Accents but very much different. I mean to be fair, Virginia has like 5 different, very much distinct accents.

Welsh alphabet doesn't contain K, Q, V, X or Z expect for Z their sounds do exist as K and Q are use by C V is F And X is CS, J was added later to the alphabet in 1989, Ch, Dd, Ff, Ng, Ph, Ll, Rh, Th are one letter not 2, look at the first letter, it comes after that letter in the alphabet expect Ng which comes after G Words beginning with, Ng, Ph, Th, Dd, Mh, Nh and Ngh are words that been mutated, Th has the most of these 7 letters in the dictionary, but not a lot Nouns are most likely to be masculine and there are endings, you also have expections. Ch is a voiceless uvular fricative The Uvular is the dangling thing at the back of the mouth C is a voiceless vevlar fricative R is a voiced alveolar trill Rh is a voiceless alveolar trill L is a voiced alveolar lateral approximant Ll is a Voiceless alveolar fricative Dd is a voiced dental Th is a voiceless dental Ei can mean his and her, if you see a soft mutation it his, aspirated or an added h hers.

Born and raised just outside of Houston(by Texas standards, meaning it's about an hours drive to the city) and people around here tend to move and travel to other parts of Texas so much that the only reason I was guessing right on where the accents were from was because I was looking at the scenery in the background! Also, after Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana, there was a mass move to Texas because everyone realized how good we had it when they took shelter here. Lot of folks simply went back to pack so they could move here after! Next generation might have more Louisiana in the accent as a result!

I'm a 6th generation Texan, born and raised in Houston. My daddy was born in West Texas, and my mother was born (in Houston) of Louisiana parents, with whom I spent a lot of time. I have an East Texas accent, and people who know accents recognize it easily. Now, I know I didn't really hear you didn't pronounce Bowie, Texas as "BOE-EE." 🤣 We have Jim "BOO-EE" knives in Texas, son. 😉

Treppenwitz is only used in this context "ein Treppenwitz der Geschichte". It means a strange fact or idea from the past, maybe not useful and a bit peculiar. There is no other way to use this expression.

I like how you are not here to harshly criticize people for their imperfections as is often what KZfaqrs are out to do but you're using the examples to illustrate what common limitations people might have in learning second languages and what they need to overcome.

The accents/dialects you want to hear are Gullah from the coastal area of South Carolina and Geechee on the coast of Georgia and Florida. Gullah and Geechee are closely related but Geechee may actually qualify as a "language." Gullah example: "Whachoo gwanna do afta da prays house? Wanna git us some greasy mout?" (What do you want to do after church? Want to go get some breakfast?" If youre from the South, you can understand it easily when you hear it spoken - the metaphors are dufferent from other dielects of English and can be confusing.

Can I just say, thank you for making this video! As a native South Texan who has been all over this beautiful state, I have long appreciated the variance in our accents. A super special thanks for covering the tejano variance too, its often left out, but it's what I hear in the voice of my people daily.

Well, as a Brazilian I have to agree the Portuguese grammar is hard as hell, most of Beazlians don't know how to use it properly, unlike Portuguese people. On the other side, the pronunciation is child's play.
