I need some advice please. I live in Africa and have the exact same engine as this one but with no info on it. I want to know what manufacture built it and when it was built.🙏

Why are you destroying a perfectly good engine? They have run this engine without connecting the water cooling pump which is normally belt driven and lies on the floor next to the right side of the engine. Then I also see that the lubricant distributor pump on the left side of the engine is missing too, so no drip feed lubrication of the moving parts and bearings! Sad to see a perfectly good engine being misused and destroyed. Cooper Walchand obviously made a very robust engine that could take so much abuse. Our rice and oil and flour mill engineer using this same machine always started by externally lubricating by hand pump and oil can all the moving parts, before starting the machine by hand cranking and then as it started, he looked out of the small window of the engine shed to see that water was being thrown out of the pipe in to the water cooling tank out side and cooling was functioning as it should.

Is this the Indian 14 hp Cooper horizontal engine, CR 14, made by Cooper Walchand group in Satara, India? Early model was designed by Tom Kavern a British engine consultant and later modified by Ricardo UK. It was common in India during the 1950s and 60s and was seen in rice, flour and oil mills. Interested to know how it got to your country?
