Shielding the pickup cavities is just a waste of time. The base plates of the humbucker pickups are already grounded.

Very cool video, but do yourself a favor and learn to solder properly. It'll save you a ton of effort and problems from substandard solder joints. Just off the top of my head - never tap anything with the soldering iron/gun nozzle. Make firm, solid contact between the soldering iron/gun tip and whatever you're heating up, for the appropriate amount of time, then remove it. Thanks again for the video.

Man that guitar is badass lookin to began with!! It’s a work of art now!! But that’s what I love doing, is buying some low cost guitars and molding them into something that sounds like a $3000 guitar!

Question: Why did you use the copper foil? and why did you have to ground it? The guitar looks amazing after your mods. I just never seen anyone use copper foil before.

To have a shield for EMI to go to ground, less noise especially if you overdrive your amps or sims.

What you show here are the tricks they always tell beginners to upgrade their entry level guitars. So they put a lot of bucks and work into that and usually end up with the same guitar again and some fantasizing maybe. You won't get a better sounding guitar except for better pickups. The cavities are already shielded and how much buzz was there really before applying the foil? There is nothing wrong with that Ibanez bridge, nor the nut, nor the electrics. No need to swap. There are other ways to improve the sound and you did not mention one of them. Btw: Where is the acoustic before and after comparison?

Do this same mod woth an old 2000/2001 RG7421/7621 wich are made in japan, basically those models are prestiges without the prestige logo and pricetag. I have a RG7420 upgraded with fishman fluence moderns, Original floyd rose and locking tuners and it is a beast!

Loved the mention about the wood glue. You're crazy like me...and right. One other thing that changes the tone is the capacitor. I found by trying out a ton, that the paper and oil caps that Bareknuckle makes sound the best for old school riff machines...gibsons, prs, teles. For shred guitars the green ployester 22uF seemed best to my taste.

Dude why file the guitar down ?surely it's better to file the nut ? Genuinely curious as to why bro
@ivanfiallos-zambrano5911
@ivanfiallos-zambrano5911 Жыл бұрын
Leftover glue from the old nut will not sit well with a replacement, and the nut i replaced is a direct fit for that guitar so no need to file the nut
