About half way in there is a progression that for all the world sounds to me like an echo of French church bells ringing. Quite a piece of music.

no one gives a fuck...we're all surrounded y filth and trash, figuratively and literally, and you guys sit in your guilded halls wearing lace underwear, scratching away at your arcane crap.

Revelatory -- thank you! And perhaps before long we'll hear something of Sivori himself, via the British Library cylinders lately attributed to him...

Thank you! I find this subject very interesting! When you say baroque set up about the Nicola Amati Violin, I'd like to know something about the strings, I suppose they are gut strings?

Well that was a discovery! Not a piece I knew before, in spite of my being a lover of Janacek's music. Wonderfully played as always.

Hello Peter, Why the use of this obtrusive vibrato?
@PeterSheppardSkaervedviolin6 ай бұрын
Perhaps it was obtrusive, but it's what came out that day: in I am a little notorious for using (apparently) too little. Thanks for listening, - it is appreciated, truthfully

I've just finished listening. It's hard to describe how wonderful this is. The second movement is particularly astonishing for me. I own the score of this piece, and yet listening to this recording today it really seems very different from my recollection. I must return to the score and investigate (I wonder if the score I own is not the "original version"). In any case, this version surely is *the one*. A very important concerto!
