Great video again Simon, taking me to places I`ve not been before. I`ve got a Pocket 2 and they are gr8 bits of kit. Have you thought of investing in a gimbal for your Sony, there are loads around, even DJI do the OSMO ones which probably would suit.

@@stevejarvis186 yes, have thought of getting a gimbal for the Sony. It would help on some of my more planned videos. I'm trying to take the least gear I can on the Scandinavian trip, easy to use and less conspicuous 😊

@@simonlawphotography I can understand that. I always take too much stuff, but then its only within the UK. Thank you. The next couple of vidoes may not be to everyones taste. Just a quick ramble from Brixham to Galmpton Creek and hopefully the Steam Fair. Trying out some camera gear before a trip to Sweden. I have had a couple of photo books printed just for myself. I could do something in the future but the initial cost of printing is quite high.

Another wonderful video thanks Dartmoor is truly spectacular in all weathers Please may i ask where did you park at Hexworthy and where is the track you followed to the bridge and buildings that is part i dont recognise we often park at combestone tor and Venford and walk around those areas know it must be around the pub area but not sure exactly where.
@simonlawphotography
@simonlawphotography Ай бұрын
Carry on past Combestone Tor and Saddle bridge, take the left turn before getting to Hexworthy. It's a narrow road. You can park on the right, just before the cattle grid and gate. There's only enough room for about 5 cars. Follow the road down hill and take the obvious track on the left. Follow this with the river on your right until you reach the bridge.

Simon. Just getting into your channel and have a question if I may. Your camera is listed as Sony A6600 but some images are shown as 50 ISO. I have an 6600 and cannot go below 100 ISO. I am assuming images were not taken on the Olympus so wonder if you are now shooting with A6700 which has a 50 ISO option or am I missing something. Thanks.
@simonlawphotography
@simonlawphotography Ай бұрын
No, definitely an a6600. The settings in back of camera show ISO 50, 64 and 80. Will have to research this. However, I really cannot see any difference in the quality of the images from ISO 100 to 50. I do love the Olympus, with only 16mp and micro 4:3rds, but looks good, is fun to use and the images are great.

I totally agree, intros are important and need to be impactful to hook the viewer. As a humble viewer I just appreciate getting to the meat of the “story” sooner. Equally when it’s over, I’m happy to get on with something else. That’s not meant to sound as flippant as might read. I know how much effort goes into video creation. I’m just passing on my hopefully constructive opinion.

Great video as always Simon. Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs but have you tried a great piece of software called Topaz Photo AI yet. Its great for clearing up noise and sharpening photos, especially taken at higher ISO`s, but if you have to crop in a bit, it also includes a great Upscaling feature, whereby you can upscale quite small images by 2 times, 4 times or more and then be able to get pretty good prints from the resultant files. If you did get it, follow a guy called Dave Kelly from The Joy of Editing with Dave Kelly who does a video each time they bring out a new version, explaining everything in that particular version. This program gets updated usualy ever week - 10 days and includes all the updates with your years subscription.

I will certainly give Dave Kelly a look to check out the software. Thank you. I have heard of it but not yet tried any 'AI' software. It's nice to get a great shot in the field but I've no problem with using a little help.
@stevejarvis186
@stevejarvis186 4 ай бұрын
@@simonlawphotography You're right Simon, theres nothing like getting it right in camera, but this software keeps evolving. One thing it does is upscaling, so if you have a small size image, you can upscale it to get a decent sized print out of it. I've just seen one guy comment Topaz AI is great for working with quite old photos, he scans them onto his PC runs them through this software and gets really good useful results that he can now print from. If you're going to try it try and find some photos that were maybe a bit soft that you'd given up on and try it on those.
