Don't Go to East Germany, thats an other story with your skin colour. Hamburg ist a Big City, with a History of trade and they are used to foreigners, because of the harbor etc. East Germany is still GDR, only White people and narrow minded.

As a white I would never think of „white community“ - when I would be abroad I only maybe would think of cultural or country community. I will never understand the reason of race community. It’s hard for me always to think whats somebody’s race is - it doesn’t come to my mind at all. I think this is often the reason the black communities are so separated from the „white community“ or more to say the „other“ people. It’s a pity. I understand the need of get together because you think you are not the same or not accepted, but today it’s really a thing to divide. When you are not accepted or have problems, because you are not these same, so you have to get up like other persons they are not the „same“ because of other reasons like a woman or disabled ones, but don’t break it down of the colour of your skin. And when you are thinking the „whites“ don’t like you (I am speaking in the case of Germany and Austria) - it’s not because you are black it’s because of your cultural behavior. A black from the UK or a black from the US will likely have no problem to be accepted, because of his cultural background, his mindset and social status. Your thinking of race get me thinking y o u don’t like me as a white person and that hurts. Love from Austria 🇦🇹

Yes , I agree P.Y. The social interaction between Germans and other Residents in personal and private Spaces is indeed a lot Better and much relaxed in Germany than in England. Because if the Locals in Germany like you , then they like you . But you have to earn their trust, because after all they trust you to come into their personal space, right? So visiting or meeting each other or cooking at each others home is very much common here in Germany. My Son studied in England and has lived in London for the last four years. I witnessed that the English and the Expatriates work together, go to the Pub or Events together. But the only time they would let anyone into their personal Space would be obviously to get intimate. So in my opinion their overt Politness as a kind of Virtue can not be understood as a welcoming gesture, it just maintains peace by protecting personal space, which is obviously important to them.. thus avoiding possible uncomfortable Conflict moments which have to be dealt with

Lol - this is delusional as regards race. It displays a willful ignorance as to the lived experience of generations of black Germans - perhaps have a conversation with them to get context. Recently the last black African member of parliament announced he will resign his seat due to the increasing harassment, racism and acts of violence.

It's an amazing conversation with certainly lots to learn from. The ladies are exquisite and apparently intelligent. But I keep asking myself all through the video, where are these perceptions coming from? As much as I support women security and freedom in all ways, the discussion is skewed towards women. When a man tells a women what he wants, we say he's controlling. But when a man does not behave or do what a women wants, we say he's unromantic. Oversexualisation of black women isn't majorly from the media or how black men portray them, it is how they portray themselves most times. Moreover, black men and women are not homogenous and our various experiences shape us differently. The way some black men have not reliquished their barbaric cultural beliefs and behaviours towards women, is the same way many black women still put on thier greedy view of men. And this, by no means, applies to either all women or men. You all got my thumbs up!

I'm half British/half German and my family lived in Bonn for 5 years when I was aged 10-15. My younger sister and I went to school and picked up the language within a year, with the local accent and everything. My dad mostly got jobs where he didn't have to use much German such as cleaning and working in the kitchen in an Irish pub. His German friends saw him as an opportunity to practice their English, which did very little to help him learn German. He also only listened to English language music and didn't watch TV or movies until we got satellite with UK channels and then DVDs replaced VHS and you could select what language you wanted to watch the film in. These days, I've caught him using duolingo to try and improve his German but he still struggles quite a bit with the grammar and pronunciation. While I hope he gets his German up to where he wants it, I'm a big believer that languages are best learned by spending your days surrounded by people who are speaking it fluently. Since moving back to the UK, I've tried Spanish classes and given up because I just find learning languages a lot harder in an academic setting than it is in the real world. While Germans can be a bit annoying with their excessive grammar policing, I actually think it's helpful over time and can make learning the language faster. I do think that like learning a musical instrument, learning a language is the kind of thing that works fastest during childhood unless you really have a personal interest in it. You see it all over the world: a family moves to a new country and the kids go to school and very quickly sound just like their classmates, while the parents go to work, learn the language a bit more slowly and usually keep the accent and even the grammar of whoever they grew up around. I also think that going to german lessons with only other people who aren't fluent in the language means everyones mistakes rub off on eachother, while when you're learning it around people who are already fluent, their fluency is what rubs off on you. After 20 years of being back in the UK with no German speakers around, I've kept my German up to scratch by listening to German rap, because unlike other styles of music, rap has paragraphs upon paragraphs of text, usually with the latest slang and colloquialisms. I hope you find less tedious ways to improve your German that work for you because I think it's worth it. I miss Germany and will probably move back there. Best of luck!

@@TheNameisPY When you give way where you don't need to, people will sometimes raise their hand, and if they have just passed you, lift ✋ it in front of their rearview mirror (Rückspiegel), which you may see looking inside/through the car ahead of you. A single high beam on the Autobahn means "I want to pass you by, please let me." That's universal. But in Germany it is forbidden inside cities and settlements. The following is for lorries only: When an overtaking lorry is ready to get back into the slow lane, the other lorry driver in the slow lane will show a single high beam, as he is better to judge if the passing lorry has indeed passed his vehicle. Once the passing lorry is back in the slow lane it, uses indicators right, left, right to say "thank you".

Interesting conversation. As a black male I hate when black women are not natural. Many blacks in Germany want to be americanized. Fake hair, too much make up, long nails, even how they talk, etc.. e.g. Sandra Lambeck style. And this leads many black men to rather take the original instead of a fake hair, character, etc.. If you are proud to be black then leave black

Quite an interesting topic! If it comes to me, a white guy, I now understand a few perspectives on certain topics better. If it comes to music, of course, Germany is not as diverse as London so Jazz and Rap have developed a bit differently, even though they're quite popular in different crowds. But rap for instance isnt as mainstream and normalised as in the UK: Unlike the US as well as the UK, rap has the gangsta image to it in Germany, without being the cause for ethnic crime or at least in way smaller circles ,which in my opinion is a good thing as well as the diversity of artists. If it was as dominated by one ethnicity like it is in the US or now also the UK, it would cause way more problems.

Hey, I don't think I am suggesting moving the hip hop culture more than just domination. Though I don't think domination will bring about "problems". Hip Hop is usually filled with many stories and perspectives. Its just a shame the ones that make it mainstream always seem to glorify the hardcore and this is exactly what I am seeing in Germany, except its not Black people doing it. I think if Black Germans could take a grasp of it the music will be better and better stories will be told. For now its just a caricature of what the U.S is doing IMO.

@@TheNameisPY I get you, but Hip Hop is mostly a representation of the society and the black minority is quite small in comparison to the slavic, arabic or turkish one and you still find someone like Luciano/Samy Deluxe/Mortel & before that Samuelsen in the charts. I would say, many artists are just not relevant in Germany, which simply has a different culture than the US or the UK(which doesnt mean, its perfect either) . But thats also the point: It would be boring if every country would have the same style and culture of Hip Hop, right? I still see your point though

Yes, we do like "Bargeld" in this country! Why? Because for Germans data privacy is a VERY important matter. It's a kind private self-consciousness. Most of us don't like at all when international Banks, governmental and multinational institutions, or tax authorities will be able to track every single private stream of money, even the smallest amount. And this has nothing to do with defrauding the revenue. The overwhelming majority of the Germans pay their taxes true and punctual. But there ist a strong feeling of suspicion that all this private pieces of information could fall into wrong hands. Simply we want cash to stay, as the last rest of privacy in the modern world of datatracking as long as possible. That's it!

Another great conversation and everything on point. The Habesha rapper Sammy de Luxe was suppose to be the unifier and spearhead as well as people like Joy Denalane and back in the nineties Moses Pelman, but I guess they were unoffficially "cancelled" by the German music industry. Remember this is the country where black artists like Milli Vanilli, Boney M, Nana, Tic Tac Toe or Snap etc made millions if not aggregated billions for the Germans. So they extracted just like they do in Africa our resources and have no interest in changing it soon. They´ll rather invite us in their homes as you stated, than share the profits. It´s their national DNA, they´ll even rather let other ethnic groups occupy spaces which are culturally ours (see the movies from the US they promote with black ppl, usually those that suit their interests than those reflecting black ppl.). The German actor Boris Kodjoe who is a respected one in the USA, esp. in the Afro-American community, once said he was never offered a role in Germany, outside of a criminal or asylum seeker, while playing leading roles in the USA. That´s the current state, so the fight is on...

Very interesting conversations, congratulations. Sure, there is room to grow for black man (in Germany), but the women, esp the one in the middle is portraiying an extremely negative picture of black man while putting herself in a position of superiority. Is there anywhere where she has a critical look at black women while interacting with black man? Rejections are on both sides. The ridiculous assumption that black man are with white woman only for the wrong reasons whereas black women are with white guys for love and care, is ridiculous and destroyed all credibility left of the two, esp the one in the middle. There were reasonable and illusionary demands, no honest empathy for black man outside of what the host was suggsting, and again, the lady on the left believably tried though. The young lady on the left side is s.o. you can work together with as a black man, but the lady in the middle, no way. Too biased, too self-centered, too non-reflective, too much Tik Tok quotes as basis of judgement and discussion. Education and career doesn´t always equate to desireable partner. The host tried to direct the conversation into a blalanced one, but had to intervene many times as he was sub-consciously left no other choice. The lack of accountability is too much. Nevertheless, the ladies had good points e.g. regarding roses and colorism which is rampant in the black community and dark skin women do suffer from it as the left side lady confirmed and the middle and "lighter" skinned woman tried, but failed to recall any negative human to human exprience of colorism (meaning she enjoys privilege, but unable to just say it, in comparison to her friend). This lack of accountability is huge weakness during this conversation and in many others, esp. with black women in particular. To set the record straight, in Western societies the black man is already a villian, loud, dangerous and fom Germany to UK to USA being rejected in jobs and society, statistically incarcerated in high numbers compare to average population, killed, and physically harmed as more and more demasculined by empowering black women against black men, "softening" black men image as gay (in movies and adverts form US to Germany) The black woman is being weaponized/used, if she knows or doesn´t. In short, both are here in the diaspora and NOT leaving their best life and potential. We need to work together and start being honest, accountable and not please s.o. for the sake of avoiding the inconvinient conversations the host is trying to conduct. We can do it, but ladies, sorry, but not sorry, you need to step up as well.

Most black women wil give more attention to, not rude to and tolerate most non black men who approached them compared to when black men approached them. Unlike White women they're so friendly openly respectful to their men, regardless of their looks status and to some extent, they extend the same to other non white men and with all that Most White women are NOT easy for any non White men to get so easy, especially if they had never dated outside of their race before unless they really like you and are ready to try men from different race. Because of White womens well-mannered respectful attitude, it is easy for their men or non White men to approach them and if they're not ready or want you most will respectfully, politely tell you ( White or non White) that im not interested. I have never made advances on any other races so i can't speak for them but your experience is simply not the bar. We as men need to look at our approach to women and dare I say it if she thinks you are not up to her standard, hey, just take it like a man and move on. They are allowed to have standards after everything the world has thrown at them including us as Black Men.

@@TheNameisPY maybe you haven't met them yet. In general Black men adores black women. 99% of all black women (old an young) living in Western world were brought there by their black men but most of them the moment they arrived they seized to live and cooperate with Black men. Didn't we black men saw all these white women when we came? Yet we still go home to bring our women. Our Women in Western world have serious problems with us. I met a black woman in States and she told me you're nice looking tall guy but you're too dark and she doesn't want to be the first person in her family to bring in dark skin kids. From that time u stopped talking any blak women...I stopped going to a Black woman for services- in stores, offices etc Man I can go on and on and on. Our Women forgets the way we used to live when we were not in Western world the moment they arrived in the western countries

I understand it Kofi, Its your experience and its valid. Not saying it doesn't happen. As a matter of fact my Dad said the same thing to me about his friends experiences and I have seen my own family do it. I attributed that to the new found "freedom" they experience here and feeling like they want more. I don't think its because they suddenly prefer other races, I think they just begin to look for more of whatever it is they want. Some find it others end up in terrible positions. Your conversation has certainly has merit in some sections of the community.

Most blacks in Germany are Africans who have brought their tribal attitudes with them. The result is a fractured population that see themselves thru their tribes/countries but the problem is that the average German see them as black African outsiders!

I can agree on point one about the tribals and attitudes. On point 2 I think its high time we stop caring what some people think about us and just go ahead a build a community that works for us. You cannot help how others feel about you, you can only work on building yourself better. Right?

So did they know that they said the best way to protect black women is to stay away, keep your distance & dont talk to them in person ???? 😂😂😂. They really hate us, they swear they love us but they don't even like us or want us in their vicinity unless it's on their own terms 😂. Interesting conversation tho, I learnt a lot 😊

Thank you for tuning in 🙌🏽 . I am sure she said approaching at inappropriate times and places. Sometime we need to take our ego out of the equation as men and understand how unsafe women feel is some scenarios being approached by men they don't know. Its not hate if you want to be safe in your space. There is a place and a time for everything and sometimes as men we can get it wrong. Don't you think that is valid?

😂😂😂😂so have they told you when the right time is @@TheNameisPY. At work it's now harassment, the gym they don't want to be bothered, in church well there's really very few men going to church now, approach in the streets night or day they feel unsafe, in the club when they're in their huddle of friends you're a creep or weird. Nah these people don't like black men for real. These ladies have spent a lot of time in anti- men echo chambers and the disingenuousness is palpable. But I enjoyed the podcast overall. 1st time watcher and new subscriber

I am glad you enjoyed the podcast. Don't you think we as men have developed very brittle egos. We argue about everything. That is not a leadership or masculine trait. If women say they feel unsafe, then they feel unsafe. If they don't want to be approached, then they don't want to be approached. We have also spent way too much time in red pill echo chambers and expect to be honoured at our every advance to women. We are just so weak now rejection sends us clutching our pearls. Its pathetic. I for one, though respecting all these boundaries has never had a problem approaching women for conversations (I'm married so nothing more, I swear). The best time I hear is during mutual friends gatherings and intimate social events. These are the questions you should be asking them not arguing about them feeling unsafe, I think.

The Third Reich extensively collected data on the "race" of its citizens in the infamous "Ariernachweis", which determined many rights and privileges their owners. And after WWII, the Federal Republic of Germany wanted to avoid even the appearance of racism, which is why they stopped tracking any information like that. But, of course, not talking about racism doesn't making it go away. Saying things like "Black people are inferior!" in public is a massive social faux pax that will result in immediate condemnation, and thus racism will be expressed in different terms. "Their have a different mentality!" "Their culture is too different from ours!" "They aren't sufficiently assimilated!" will allow those who utter those sentences to pretend that this is not racism (and usually they actually believe that!) - but yeah, it's pretty much always racism. Back to tracking data about ethnicity: I can see how it would make discussing racism easier if we had better statistics, and it might help with DEI initiatives - but such statistics could also be abused, such as claims by the AfD and other fascists about Deutschland becoming "überfremdet" and immigrants "crowding out ethnic Germans". It's a tricky issue, and I am not sure what approach would be best.

Thanks for the thorough analysis. From what I have experienced the data has always proved counter to the stereotypes of immigrants. It surprises me that in 2024 people in Germany are still worried about what data will be used for by extremists. Haven't we learnt from history? Data on race is taken in the UK and we have so far not seen it being manipulated for some extreme propaganda. I mean I get the history of Germany but still?

@@TheNameisPY There's another aspect here. The German Constitution makes clear that, legally speaking, a German is someone who has German citizenship (Article 116 (1)). So if you were to do ethnic surveys of Germans and people living in Germany, how exactly would you describe "ethnic Germans"? If you added a category of "ethnic Germans" to such a survey, wouldn't it imply that they are "more German" than others, even if others also have German citizenship? And "Weiße" ("whites") as a category as it is done in the UK would be seen as extremely problematic, since that term is deeply associated with racism. Furthermore, if the goal _is_ to survey and track discrimination on ethnic grounds, it would gloss over Eastern Europeans and Slavic people - which often are the subject of discrimination. This has a rather long history in Germany, too - Germans have long seen Eastern Europe as colonial space, and in the 19th century comparisons of the "Wild East" with the "Wild West" of the North American frontier were common. World War II was in huge parts a _colonial_ war - perpetrated against people who were largely recognized in the UK and the USA as "white" but seen as "lesser" by many Germans (definitely including the Nazis). This is one of the reasons why I am leery of just using terminology about racism developed in the USA and the UK for Germany. "Race" is a social construct, after all - but while there are obviously similarities in how racism expresses itself in the UK, the USA, and Germany, there are differences as well.
@TheNameisPY
@TheNameisPY 4 күн бұрын
Race is a social construct but its too late to be afraid of it. Its are political now and they affect real lives everyday. The goal is not to track discrimination the goal is to track real life statistics like the amount of graduation amongst ethnics, job distribution, success in education, pay disparities and all other measures a society might need. I can tell you right now that in the U.K the most educated people are Nigerians (women specifically). How? because the statistics say so. When we ask for data its not just for the doom and gloom it is also to make sure we have the stats to back government policies and soci-political issues. Direct attention where necessary. If we use blanket stats that cover a wider group of people it is simply inaccurate and doesnt take into consideration the other factors such as race, sexual preference, gender etc. Even classes. It just makes sense. But I guess most people do not want that mirror held up for them to see themselves. For that I commend the UK and US even though its not perfect
