No it's long gone. I sold it in 2009 and then I emigrated. The guy I sold it to enjoyed it for a few years and did a further restore on it. He has since sold it on.

I don't remember now. Those wheels were standard series III. So it would be whatever tire size fitted those.

No it's a 67 but with 63 fenders and decklid to back date it, just like they did in the movies for some of them.

Love a Bug got 2 63 ones looking at another currently 3 actually a 65 a 61 and a 68 my one of my 63s is a original white same as herbie and is a deluxe like herbie and has markings everywhere all same numbers but is a UK original Bug

I bought this too, but just haven’t put it up yet, after 2 years! As for Costco’s 13’x13’ Coleman Canopy Tent, do NOT waste your money, as it will only last about 5 months, (continuously setup) before the polyester canopy cover will just easily tear itself, from just being exposed to the sun and light rain!

I am the same! I am currently 18 years old, when I was 4 my Mom showed me the love bug, I wanted one my whole life! and just a few days ago I got my first beetle!! 1963 ragtop! I'm currently stripping him down! just got the gas tank out today! I'm so excited! I love the enjoyment and support of other fans! Wish me luck!

I wouldn't like to try it. I think getting the snow off it right away has been maintaining the fabric. It's coming into it's third winter now.

If you still have this up, I was wondering how is the cover holding up? I have thought about getting one of these and when the cover wears out, covering it with some galvanized roof panels.

Yes that's a great idea. I will do something like that when the cover wears out on this one. But so far, it hasn't at all. This will be the third winter it's going into. I always get the snow off the roof which I think helps preserve it.

Some is going to either get a broken thumb or arm with that Fordson. Don't spin them, keep your thumb other side of the handle in case it kicks!

Fantastic second part to the video. Hope there's a third. Am curious to know if your still trucking. Your a very interesting guy, I could talk to you for hours regarding all things American! The trucks are amazing, nothing will ever beat the looks of those seventies, eighties and early nineties eighteen wheelers. Like you I grew up on American films, drooling over their vehicles and wondering why ours didnt look as good.......

I love this, I was there at the 40th and drove Burt Reynolds black Trans am around the Snowmans truck owned by Wayne Alderson. you will also see be driving the General lee as the Bandit Character in Stand On It, I was in the back of the cop car in Poker Run and driving the Trans am in the upcoming Double or Nothing movie produced by John Schneider, Burt and John are the last of a dying breed that is sadly fading away from the big screen but will remain in our hearts forever.

This would be an ideal project to turn this into a rear wheel drive tractor. Dump the tub. Flip the axle to reverse it's direction, spin around the steering column, seat and pedal box. A few days and a welder would give you an articulated mini tractor.

I would want to keep it as it is, then get a small tractor like a Fordson or something. If I ran a towable back hoe behind it, I can dig and dump as much as I would need.

Nice work building this. I’m also quite interested in adapting your idea if using slabs for a garage floor, like you did, as well as rubber matting over top of them like you. Are those stone slabs? Are they at Lowes or something similar, and did all of that cost you a pretty penny?

The slabs are stone, they were already there actually. If we wanted to buy more, we would look on FB market place. They sometimes come up for sale there at a reasonable price. The rubber was the most expensive part of all this. That was in the region of $600. It stops the damp though.
