Steve Wickham joined the band after the 3rd studioalbum. He left in 2021. At livegigs his violinsolo's are now mainly played by Brother Paul on his keytar.

I've allready reacted on this entry, but whatever. Just recurring on my tour among country greats like Taylor Hunnicutt, or Miranda Lambert, Joanna stays one of the greats in her field, her voice, her smile, her guitarplaying, be it a esquire or a Les Paul. Great!

I never get tired of the rendering this woman gives in her performance s her funny gritty voice, her likeable appearance; her Smile that makes the rainiest day sunny. I have all her studio albums, although the later ones, sometimes sound to much arrivee to me

I think it's because Chris was a bass singer and this guy is either a tenor or a baritone. So those notes are easier on his chords. Still phenomenal.

Well Chris was a Baritone actually , he just had so much resonance in his voice that even when he sang high it sounded “heavy”

@Cloventus G. damn really? I'm a baritone and he's much deeper than I am. I even did some research online and on those vocal coach channels. I swear they all agree he was a 4 octave bass.

@@jordiejames3552 From what I know, read and seen he is in fact a baritone, with a four octave range and insane resonance. Obviously what he could do is insane so I don’t really think voice types matter in his case because he could sing in tenor range and baritone range when he wanted. As for the vocal coaches saying that he is a bass , I’ve seen atleast three outright say he is a baritone (one that comes to mind is Bethroars, but I’m sure it won’t be that hard to find the others if you just search for analysis on his vocals) and if you just search up his voice type online they all just state baritone as well but, I mean if we take his early vocal performances to later performances, different albums , his bands or solo stuff he really could sing in any range he chose.

He did there is no debating that. However Chris did have a guitar resting on his stomach effecting how much air he could take in and had to play his part (which while it wasn’t much to be honest he still had to keep rhythm😅)

This was at the end of a year and a half of constant touring, and a lot of wear and tear on Ellie's vocal cords. Plus, cold weather in Holland. It's amazing that her voice has held up as well as it has. Time for a much-needed rest!
