Love you guys! Love the forum! The 2020 had poor reviews from aficionado. Will these age well?
@Samharrisonford14 күн бұрын
Probably. CA is a valuable guide, but their reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. They base ratings on small sample sizes, which can lead to generalizations about an entire production year. For example, the Upmann No. 2, rated 98 points as COTR 2022 from an April 2022 box. They did another review recently on a May 2022 box and gave it 91 points. Forums like FOH can offer better insights into the overall quality of a marca and vitola for a given year. Overall, from my experience and what I’ve read, the quality in flavor, construction, and consistency has mostly gotten better since 2020, which is surprising given the troubles in Cuba

Coming back to this channel after about 10 years.. unreal that you guys are still doing this. It’s such undervalued content. Question because I missed the last 10 years.. 1) why aren’t you doing them in person 2) please bring the drink pairings back! Even if you both have your own

Yeah, I was lucky enough to pick up half a box left at a store I found on holiday while they were still reasonably priced there. They've been stunning cigars but I had one recently which was tight on the draw. Still smoked pretty well but you could tell the flavours were being restricted. All the others I've had from the box so far have been incredible though, with perfect draws and stunning flavour.

Funny, how I smoked a Monte Especiales No. 2 from 2018 today, then sat down, surprised to see the interview with John S. It was because of his review of this cigar on his KZfaq channel that I started to search these out. Miss his show. Prost!
@AD-kv9kjАй бұрын
Not disagreeing about the overall quality being a lot better since the early 00s, though I find it no better now than it was around the late 00s and 2010s. I also just smoked an absolutely awful Montecristo 4. I find a lot of really badly blended Monte 4s still.

Maybe consider just softening the roll a little bit. It's a good cigar, but I always feel that just a touch of springiness to the feel makes it...feel better. If you can roll them that hard with good draws then why not just make them that little more pleasing to the touch also?
@AD-kv9kj4 ай бұрын
9:14 - Great reply from an experience professional. Strangely a very rare thing these days. Not only a full and detailed answer, but actually physically shows you by rolling a cigar one of the main ways these tight draws happen! Amazing. I could sit, smoke and talk cigars with Hamlet all day.

Robert, a question please. Ordering from Canada /i want to know how you label your cigars once ordered? Im asking because we typically get our shipowners to label to parcel as cables or plastic toys. Canadian customs beats us to an early grave with up to 650% taxing on cigars into Canada., IF I am going to being ordering your fantastic new torpedos, I’d like to know that you would label the parcel correctly for me please. Let me know, As per always,s great episode and thanks again,.

It started to really crank up around 2014 and then covid was used as an excuse to rinse the market for all they possibly could. There are a lot of extremely wealthy individuals who've been buying up huge quantities of the best Havanas to then auction off, using the new market to make millions. So long as people keep buying them at these prices, the industry will continue to whack prices up. Governments are equally, opportunistically, cranking the tax through the roof also, because people keep buying them despite all the complaining. Also, added tidbit, which is completely true and you can look it all up, the anti-tobacco lobbies are largely funded by the big cigarette companies - these companies want to push people off tobacco and onto their new vape products, because their profit margins are hugely greater for manufacturing and selling vape liquids.
